It's varies from story to story. The omegaverse concept is rather open to interpretation. New things are added or changed according to the whims of the artist.

^ Agreed with above, but also one of the common omegaverse "rules" is actually that the Omega can still have sex with others as long as they're not in heat. When heat is happening, they can only have sex with the alpha they're paired with. Otherwise, sex is normal!

I don't agree this is completely new I read mostly omegaverse and they all agree at least on that point ... But u are right its fiction so I got shocked a little but hope they continued in the same line rule so could felt some reality in these stories. Still I like the story so far but that made me so confused ><

it kinda defeats the purpose of bonding if the omega can still have sex with others, s/he should be breeding with his/her bonded alpha. Its unfair but I understand why evolution would allow alphas to continue to spread their seed while having a harem of bonded omegas, for example. Is this omega just a masochist who pushes thru feeling sick to be touched by someone else to continue his work or what? If an author is going to stray from usual omegaverse norms they should include an explanation of how their omegaverse works in the prologue.

The reason this seems unusual is just because there's not often cases where you SEE someone paired trying to have sex outside of their pair. Romantic Joutou is one that uses this same logic.

Spoilers for Romantic Joutou: The Omega is marked by an alpha (warning: unwillingly) and gets I'll when having sex with his lover (a beta) while in heat. However, the two are able to have sex when the Omega is *not* in heat, and it's just fine.

So really it's just a rare case, not a rare context, I think!

These are examples of bonded omegas getting sick from being assaulted or touched by and alpha or beta. Just an fyi...

I read so many Omegaverse yaois (though I don't read the furry ones cuz is not my jam personally), I know the examples, I'm just saying the reasonable logic behind the situation in this mangaka's scenario.

Besides, Love is an Illusion isn't a good example of any omegaverse standard when in that world, betas can't get pregnant. Now THAT's unusual omegaverse logic.

In love is illusion I think she took the original idea though I'm not sure as I heard there is stories before omegaverse Japanese one and that was the standers .. Though in Japanese one they could ones they could by trying hard and the other is easy as long the other is alpha best example is(Kashikomarimashita, Destiny) even thier mate was unusual too in love is illusions ( it was animal way as furry way) and as I said Im not sure because all my omegaverse I read mostly Japanese i think its still share the same rule of rejection BTW and as you said its not best of example ...but we hope that the creation of love is illusion to do something about that . the furry because its Japanese it walk the exact way as other omegaverse.

I sighed out of exasperation because the comments are going off topic, it wasn't directed at you personally... the original topic reads: 'The omega can still have sex with other people even after being paired/mated with an alpha? I thought it was impossible ' the earlier comments referenced that although mangakas can take their own liberties with their omegaverse worlds, there are still a set of standard rules readers expect to see in omegaverse and one of them is that paired omegas can only have sex with their alpha (whether they are in heat or not). You mentioned betas can't get pregnant in love is an illusion and that that one goes off the rails in terms of the standard rules..however, the omega could not stand to be touched by another alpha once he bonded. In other words that mangaka followed that one rule.
