Ive read the novel years ago, did they do a good job of translating the story into webtoon form? I want to know before starting this.
Just okay. Somehow I feel all the important emotions, specially the flashbacks are not captured in a satisfactory manner. I mean we can’t complain but for me, the memories of this book was solely the parts where both of them start remembering the past, it’s the kind of yearnings and slow burn done so well by Mu Su Li
It's been a while since I read the Manhwa and it was on a different website, but it doesn't do as good of a job explaining what's going on in my opinion. Maybe it was a translation issue but I had to stop reading the Manhwa after the first exam to read the novel and THEN go back to the Manhwa since I understand what was going on. I think it depends a little too much on the fact that most of the readers will have also read the book.
I forgot, what did the father do again? Whyd he leave?
there was no explanation, just vague implication, but from what i gathered he was a good and loving but cowardly and irresponsible father ? basically showing how relationships are complicated because often its not black and white. keeping in line with the title, its a coming of age story, so i suppose its focusing on lcy's reconciliation with the father in his memories who impacted him as a person and the real person that he is/was. and that he can still love him while being deeply affected by his absence, and that he can forgive him for himself, and feel all those emotions.

See, the "reveal" that grandpa being involved makes me even more pissed about the storytelling. Like wdym they investigated the grandpa a lot FOR YEARS but nothing showed up?? The red hair guy literally just visited his house lol, not even an obscure phone call.
