How is tei bottoming “barely acceptable”?

Um are we just very conveniently forgetting that they met when Shuraka was a literal child? What's even more disturbing is the fact that when they actually met after time gap, Tei went straight to bed with him without so much as a question. No complaints, no resentment, no questions about being abandoned for so long. Not even a "hey how have you been all these years?" Their relationship is so empty and feels like just obligation. Especially on Tei's part. Tei's only concern is how he can prove his own worth and nothing else. And then the funniest shit that happened this chapter. Are you seriously telling me that Tei secretly trained every night without Shuraka finding out when all trees and plants are supposed to be his spies? Even if you forget that, are you seriously telling me that "Beloved" obsessed Shuraka actually failed to recognise his voice when they had a whole ass conversation and actually wanted to kill him in the arena? Pfft. How convenient.

Their relationship at the start being empty and feeling like an obligation is probably the point esp when S1 is from Tei's POV. As much as Tei cared for Shuraka as a child & was his protector, this was an arranged marriage. He compares himself to his mother who married in a foreign land & died so ofc he's obsessed in finding his worth, not really hard to figure out. The author conveyed that properly if that's how u felt imo. Author already provided an explanation for Shu not knowing Tei in the Altura. Regarding nature to be his spies, I don't see how it's not impossible since Shu hasn't been spreading his seed thus his powers are weakening & could symbolize him losing Natam's blessing.
