I love Yaoi but the one thing I hate about it is how normal choosing whose the bottom and whose the top. When people become accustomed to things such as this, in real life they will be picking out who’s, who in the relationship. If you asked those questions in real life to either me or my boyfriend. I’m going to smack you because it’s probably the most disrespectful thing one could ever ask to a same sex relationship because why are you worried about that. Yaoi is very fictional, and I never see it as a real life portrayal of gay relationships. I’m queer and have had experience with both sides of the coins. I get your point but in my opinion because MC was a top from the start, it’s as if the storyline is forcing him to be a bottom which is why i feel like the intercourse is forced in a way. For example in the main story the MC was a bottom (or became one after dubious mission needs) and there wasn’t any definitive evidence that he was ever a top. But MC in this story was a known bisexual top from the beginning and is clearly showing that he isn’t interested in becoming one. Which is why I said that the author could have went on a more interesting dynamic where despite being the bottom Enzo is as dangerous as he is now. Or at least in this current story, show us that MC has been bottom curious sometimes (maybe it’s coming we don’t know). But as of right now all the times they had sex doesn’t seem enjoyable yet for MC and it makes it a hard read. I just want the chase and banter showed in the beginning to be also translated while they are having sex where they are both enjoying themselves despite it being a psychotic relationship. Thus my previous comment. I hope this translates better where I was coming from.

You’re right I don’t like the rigid roles either. It’s not a good representation of real life. Ppl switch for gods sake. It’s just society is over saturated with stereotypes of gay people. They think bottoms and tops are monolith. It bothers me so much when I see comments asking for the roles (similarly to bad apple) to be reversed cuz the top is short or too pretty and vice versa for bottoms who carry a more masculine physique. It grinds me gears.
