I loved it before but rereading it now, i realize that the writing isn't too good..?
the way the author resolves conflicts is so half hearted and the way the characters confess why they like each other is so lacking.. dojin be like "i like you cuz u r u." and hyesung immediately fold..?
like explain, bro! is it the way hyesung laughs when he wins an argument, the way he's so stubborn but only because he don't want to appear weak, the way he's so unbearably adorable when he teases you, the way he starts to open to you as you spend time together, the way he's so stupid and naive that you can't help but want to protect him.. LIST EM ALL. TO HIS FACE. make us, readers, feel how much you yearn for him HUHU
it's also unclear when hyesung fell for dojin, like cool, he started to open up during that heart to heart talk before he gave birth.. but that's all??? the only reason why hyesung married dojin is for byul and because he saw dojin's parents being lovey dovey.
I wanted to see hyesung's walls fall apart when he realizes dojin is always there for him. I love that hyesung is a brat, but i HATE how he only shows affection to dojin when they're apart because of the bond and their bodies yearn for each other's warmth. We got to see a lot of dojin's yearning outside sex but hyesung? barely! Dojin's cheating scandal made hyesung realise he loves dojin and he finally says he loves him, yes. BUT it's so blank! Like there wasnt enough scenes to back his emotions before that confession since all they do is have sex. SOBS
I understand that the characters here like how good their partner's appearance are but i wanted more depth SOBS
also, this is just a personal rant but i especially hated the part where hyesung ran away after dojin confessed and tried to sleep with another alpha lol i think that part was unnecessary and was just added to show that the two has bonded, they could have just screamed at each other about their feelings without that part, it was unnecessary imo
the start of their relationship was soooo messy but it couldve honestly been better if the writing and pace was better, i cant help but compare this to lowtide in twilight, which is also one of my faves.
Still love this gem nonetheless, it's just that now that I've matured, i can critic it like this because it really couldve been so much better. Sighh
I was young when I read this. I am not oldie but I was in middle school when I read this, and I remember hating Hyesung so much. I grew up, matured somewhat, realising how much Hyesung went through. omg same! i used to hate hyesung before, thankfully i was educated by a much older reader back then and understood that hyesung really is just a victim in all of this :((( honestly don't want dojin and hyesung together too, he should leave both his husband and son after what they did to him behind his back (re: maintaining contact with hyesung's mom when hyesung clearly stated he don't want anything to do with that bitch again)
Honestly dont wanna say this as this story is also very pivotal to me liking ABO as well.. but the way the author disregards hyesung's trauma is just pure BS. I couldnt stomach reading byul's story because i thought hyesung's mom will never appear again but here we are, using hyesung's trauma as a catalyst for byul and his partner's first kiss UGH it's just bad writing at this point tbh HUHU
Also started to lose faith in the way trauma is handled in this story waaaay back during chowon and his partner's epilogue tbh.. chowon was a victim of his family's indifference and clearly stated he didnt want to expose his daughter to his family, but what does his beta partner do? Go behind his back! Where is the respect.... you should be on ur wife's siiiide im so MAAAADD
