After Inseop tormented Kijeong with uncertainty in Chapter 58, she bursts into his room and pushes him onto the bed, demanding he explain what he wants. Inseop pretends not to understand the accusations, pointing out that she came to him herself, ready to agree to any terms.
Kijeong is bewildered and pulls away from him, but he immediately grabs her face and pulls her in for a kiss. She, however, squeezes her eyes shut in fear. He realizes she was bluffing about being "ready for anything" and lets her go with a disappointed look, ordering her to leave the room. Kijeong leaves, terrified, clutching her heart, and on her way back to her bedroom, she discovers a harmonica on that same shelf.
The next day, the lawyer goes to work, leaving the female lead home alone. She spends the entire day scouring every corner of the house, trying to find any evidence of his murders. Finally, she finds a safe in his closet and discovers the code is her birthday.
In the evening, Inseop returns home and finds his room completely turned upside down. He holds out his car keys to Kijeong and suggests she search his vehicle if his house wasn't enough for her. The female lead threatens him with a knife and demands he confess how many people he has killed. However, he grabs her hand and presses the knife to his own throat, calling her bluff, saying, "Go ahead, do it, and you'll become a murderer too."
