I'm literally crying, and I only quickly scrolled down the third chapter. This is the worst of her works imo, and most of them have dub con or outright rape. WTF author, what the fuck.

Some (most?) parts of this story, at least up to ~ch19 can be difficult to read, i.e. psychological stuff, in a rather realistic way.. If normal people (not)dealing with obsessive-psycopathic-nutcases isn't your thing - don't read.
Maybe it gets better (not the quality which is great - less grim) later, but I just couldn't read it anymore.

My personal problem (ok one of them) with this story is not the sleeping around which I don't mind at all (especially since they weren't in a relationship and it's been 7 fucking years), but the almost prostitution aspects, and I'm not even sure who was using whom..
The butchers son really wanted a serious committed relationship with makoto who didn't and still casually slept with him, but actually that guy sexually harassed makoto back in middle school so idk anymore on who's side I am
The married guy - is, well, married, so wtf you two (poor wife)
Shou's father - not even gonna go there, in my headcanon that's all the old man's dirty fantasy and nothing actually happened
Even if the guys claimed the sex was freely done and unrelated to the business, it still bothered me a lot, especially after the car scene "You can do whatever you want"..
Also make no mistake - all of this came from the author, so any criticism on characterization goes to her(?). All of the heated arguments here about sleeping around and gay culture are a bit moot in my opinion because I honestly doubt the author is writing from within or with "authentic" insight about it. I think the comedy vibe and unrealistic aspects (like everyone in town being aware of makoto sleeping with all the shop heirs and being totally fine with it, no in-story slut shaming and homophobia, nice utopic world author) lessen this story, which could've been interesting and dealt with actual real life drama. This is simply a miss in my opinion.
(btw I believe a lot of the negativity here towards makoto in general is because he wasn't fleshed out well, and it's really hard to sympathize with him or relate to his pov. even the backstory with his parents came too little too late I think, so maybe another problem is bad editing decisions)
(another side-note - I got angry at the whole situation of makoto convincing shou abandon his career in italy [let's ignore his dad's injury for a moment], and making no concession about it later, only expecting him to do everything the brat wanted "for the shopping district!!!!", and later the butcher's son blaming him for mistreating makoto when everything he did was for love of shou.. what.the.fuck people, how is any of this shou's fault, I would've been hella confused about things too, especially someone telling me I'm the love of their life but then unabashedly continuing to sleep with people I have to come in contact with daily, who don't exactly hide it.. not awkward at all uh huh)

people change, after 7 years, new goals and dreams are chased. so for the butcher guy to make shou feel guilty is stupid. no one forced makoto to do what he did, he decided to do so. to try and tie shou down by saying it was all for him..... thats such a one sided and childish mindset. "i did this for you, so you have to accept it" even though they never asked shou if thats what he wanted.
there is nothing wrong about liking sex, and sleeping with a lot of people. but it felt wrong in this manga, maybe because its implied that the sex was an exchange so that makakoto could achieve success, because that was the only way for shou to come back/stay with him. but in actuality, if the author portrayed it so that the sex was a bonus for makoto since he liked sex, it wouldn't feel so forced.
i dunno, i cant really express how confused i am about the plot development and the story xD but i agree with what youve said
