Hey guys, in the novel Ilic actually does have a dream that Sayan will die, and even though he doesn't die in the novel itself, it is heavily implied that he will die later on because he is super sick. Also, Ilic never actually tells him that he "loves" him, as that was added in the webtoon. In fact, it is made pretty clear that even though Ilic understands they are a couple and cares for him, he doesn't love him the same way Sayan does, like true love. On Twitter, someone asked the author to please tell us if Ilic actually loves Sayan in the end and she said she would "leave it to our imagination," but that is what the novel implies, that he doesn't love him the way Sayan wants. Then in another tweet someone begged her to please just say he loves him and she literally said "no" xD, meaning she won't confirm it but it is understood that he doesn't love him. I was reading another forum discussing the ending of this novel and honestly everyone feels the exact same way xD In fact, if you go back and read this webtoon with that mindset, you'll realize it really is like that.
The story closes with Illic noting, "I kissed Sayan ALIVE in my arms." Sayan is severely sick, and Illic already had a premonition dream about his death. It serves as subtle foreshadowing that, despite this moment of intimacy, Sayan doesn't have much time left.

In the last chapters, I was so scared that something bad would happen because I’ve read some of this author’s other stories, and in many of them things don’t turn out so nicely. Honestly, the smut was BEAUTIFUL. I loved the way they kissed, you could really feel their love. I don’t understand why it has such a low rating!
I literally fell in love with every single guy here... like, everyone is actually gorgeous. I’m a sucker for toxicity, so I didn't mind the ending. It wasn't my dream scenario, but they’re together and that’s all that matters to me.
I hate that the top was left anxious and wondering until the very end, and I also hate how the bottom was so cold, like even when the story was already about to end he didn’t care enough to ask anything about the top’s past life with the band lol. I have to say the top is honestly a beautiful baby, and every time he cried I cried too because you could really feel his emotions. I hate that even at the end Mokhwa couldn’t say “I love you.” From season 3 onward it felt like the author didn’t really know where to go with the story. The whole thing about buying the café felt so random and out of place because the previous seasons didn’t have that kind of absurd stuff. I think the author wanted to keep the bottom loyal to his boss until the very end.
Please give it a chance and go read the novel. A lot of you complain that he's 18, but in the novel he's actually 20 (I’m guessing due to Korean age). Also, this ending reaches the conclusion of the main story, but it doesn’t include the extra episodes the author gave us afterward. Personally, I really liked it, it was a calm and enjoyable read, and of course, getting to know the characters’ thoughts better makes you feel more attached, so it hurts even more when it ends. I’m honestly one of those people who has read tons of stories with sensitive/heavy themes, rape, etc and to be real, it’s never bothered me before. But with this story, it’s just TOO MUCH, to the point where, for the first time ever, it actually made me feel uncomfortable, lol. It feels like the author actually enjoys drawing those scenes. Personally, they felt way too long, and I just kept wishing they’d be over already. It was just like, TOO MUCH, like "when is this gonna end?!" At the end of the day, the plot itself isn't even that gripping either. It's not the kind of story that had me screaming with excitement or anything, it's pretty mid, honestly. Nothing deep about it. The only saving grace is that the art style and character designs are amazing—the art is a solid 100/10, but the story itself is just meh, nothing memorable that stays with you. I feel like people saying it's good are just getting carried away by the art. Like, it's just two hotties, so they're blind to how mid the story actually is xD
