So I read the side story for Ashley & Koi and it really gave me the ick because they were horrible parents my gosh. I was reading the novel but decided to read the side stories and it really confirmed how manipulative Ashley was to Koi. Also, Grayson was a very psychotic child (as we know), but I really feel like he doesn’t deserve Dane. However, knowing how he treated Chase and the parents just not doing much really infuriated me :/
Edit: I didn’t know that it deletes replies if u edit the post sorry to thee person that replied :(((
could not agree more! what gives me the ick most is that there are people out there in socmed glossing over them yikesss I hope Grayson croaks he def does not deserve Dane at the slightest

Yes exactly! I’m seeing sooo many people dismissing what Grayson has done to Chase, and he even poisoned Koi as well! It’s hard to continue reading this knowing how horrible of a person Grayson is
I really recommend you to read Grayson's story, you'll know why Grayson and Dane are destined partners. They fit each other like Yin and Yang, the only person that made Grayson a better person was Dane. Actually he already became a decent person when he found out it was Dane he was looking for, which surprised even his parents. He started to show more emotions and learn abt it, and those emotions only show when Dane is there with him.
Grayson is a very imperfect person who can't distinguish what's right and wrong. Because he lived his whole life not being taught better, he never really got to know things. He always had emotions, it's js that his doctors and parents failed to notice it, all bc Ashley let his fear towards his father control him. So he lived his whole life thinking he never had and will never know emotions.
But here comes Dane, the only person who was able to notice little things that ppl don't notice, not because Dane is kind or biased, but bc he didn't stereotype Grayson, he didn't judge him to be cold or be devoid of emotions immediately unlike the ppl surrounding him. He only needed someone like Dane, if Ashley was js a good parent to all and didn't let his hate for dominant alphas get to him, he would've treated all of his kids better. Dane's the only one who treated him like a human, then he learns to be a human, all without Dane forcing him, he learned it through Dane's patience.
If people were just patient for him, and he had someone like Dane to take care of him, he wouldn't have grown to be a nightmare, cold dominant alpha, that people see him as. Grayson is a complex character, and not all complex character are innocent and haven't committed anything that would traumatize another person. If Ashley and Koi were js better parents, things would've been different for all of them. It's ironic how the most hated of all Miller kids, became the most human after meeting Dane, he fully redeemed himself and learned new emotions by himself.
[Spoiler] In the end of the story he learns "guilt" an emotion rarely seen from dominant alphas in their universe, he became a new standard. Well you can argue that every dominant alphas, even Chase felt guilty towards their partner. But get this, only to their partner. They're still treat other people like ants, but Grayson, he is the only one who finally learned that people were never ants, they were just like him, as how he was just like them. He became the first Miller who was able to control himself when he realized his thoughts were leading him to want to hurt the very person he loves, he became the only Miller who didn't dismiss what their partner actually wants.
He respected Dane's rejection and choice even if it leads to him losing the only person who taught him everything he didn't know. He didn't even try to chase Dane back and gain his affection again, because he knew that it would only hurt Dane more. He may have grown up to not know his emotions but he's sensitive to others emotions, and can read them really well, and because of that he chose to distance himself just to make Dane happy. All because he thought Dane would be happier, but Dane wasn't, he became empty when Grayson left.
Grayson also taught him everything he never experienced, and that was love, he saw how as he was patient with Grayson, Grayson also became patient for him. He learned from Grayson how love wasn't scary at all, it was pure bliss, unlike what his mother made him think. All Grayson gave to Dane was his undying love on which he thought would change and disperse as long as he keeps his wall up, but never, it never did.
So you see, neither don't deserve the other, if there was such, it would be Dane undeserving of such pure love. But he does deserve it, he amongst all deserved Grayson's love. And Grayson deserved someone like Dane who lit the fire to his dark home.
I’m sick of these authors just putting SA in their stories like it’s normal ew bro. and all that build up just for this while taking multiple hiatuses. so infuriating.
