dawg I knew ts was gonna happen, I wrote about it in a previous comment.. of course hyesung was gonna go meet his mom!! There is genuinely nothing on earth that could ever make me like hyesung’s mom, because you should not ever get away with abandoning your CHILD. If anything, she should have been the one to reach out first, or even tell Dojin or Byul that she wanted to connect with Hyesung again, BUT NO hyesung, the abandoned child, had to be the one to do it. I think the mom could have gone her entire life never seeing him again, because she made absolutely no effort to do so.

I also come from a culture where we don’t have familial piety, so maybe I’m not really getting it, but I’ve been seeing tons of other comments being more understanding of this situation because they’re able to actually relate to it. I can’t relate to it, so I can’t have too much of an opinion, but from an outsider’s perspective,I absolutely cannot stand parents who can’t do the bare minimum of treating their children like human beings. None of us asked to be here, and even characters like Hyesung. The mother should not be treated this kindly or get what she wants just because she’s hyesung’s mom. To me personally, it’s disturbing how little anyone in this manwha cares about hyesung’s feelings or trauma. This woman left him in the hands of an abuser, and made no effort to save him, yet we’re supposed to sympathize with her?

don’t even get me started on dojin and byul either. I said this before as well, but if I were hyesung I’d be absolutely devastated that my loved ones were actively visiting and financially taking care of someone who basically left me to die. hyesung’s better than me, for not getting that angry, but I also think it’s sad that he wasn’t. I don’t care that this is byul’s story. Don’t introduce something so deep and open traumatic wounds for your characters if you’re gonna half ass it.

SORRY FOR THE YAP but this side story really pissed me off. I know some may not agree with me and that’s okay, I just wanted to share my feelings because I actually really love hyesung! And to see him get stepped all over by his loved ones tears my heart to pieces.

And hey, at least he didn’t forgive his mom. (I wouldn’t either)

I get this is byul’s story, but how do you create an issue this deep and then brush it aside like it’s nothing? Dojin and Byul don’t deserve forgiveness this easily, I’m sorry. They truly betrayed hyesung’s trust, especially Dojin, and the way it’s set up makes me believe that hyesung is going to eventually meet/forgive his mother, which is so fucking stupid because she deserves nothing good in her life after what she did to him. Even with byul’s comment to hyesung in the last chapter, if I were hyesung I’d be way more upset. And I especially would not be letting Dojin comfort me, either.
