not quite, rishar was never this jealous with ettienne as they both confide in each other from what i remember there were other characters that were for the plot and in the novel from what i remember antoinne fell in love first with richar and then kinda with etty but they have cut this as well as other things. Theodore gave richards jealosy but richar was never this possesive and untrusty of etty. Also theodore never had that many screentime. in fact, the novel its starting to see as something that the artist inspired on to write the manwha rather than being an adaptation so....
