Y'all. The kid is trans. I know a lot of people are saying "why say that when guys can like pink" as if the manga is a push back on the gender sterotype.

One of my closest friend is trans, and he has gone through so much hate and anxiety just to be where he is today. I truly mean it when I say I love him to death, for who he is, and the progress he has made in his transition. I'm not saying I know what it's like to be a trans person, but I know when a person is trying to come out and transition. You can easily see exactly what you do in many trans people finding out who they are in the main character. She feels automatically more comfortable in her own skin when she looks like and acts like a girl, despite having fears over what others would think, and how she could end up.

Now, I'm not saying everyone here who doesn't think she is trans is being rude, and I love a good debate, but I've seen a lot of transphobic comments here. Not only is the genre lgbt, but this manga is SPECIFICALLY about what it's like to be trans, and this needs to be a safe space for everyone to read. No gay person wants to read a comic and see a bunch of "I think that gay people are pushing their rights on us can't you just not like the same gender you are???" Nor do straight people want to see "gay people are better in every way" in a comments section either.
Also, if you call the main character by male pronouns, for any other reasons than ignorance (and I don't mean to be rude when I say that), then get over yourselves, accept her as a girl, and move on with your lives.
