This would be peak if it wasn't so groomy. Its like they tried their hardest to make the uke as naive and dumb as possible and the seme as obsessive, possessive and controlling as possible. They are both such cliches(dont get me wrong I love a good cliche) and it clearly wasnt enough so they went ahead and made the seme a groomer.
He's known Asha since he was a baby and has liked him since then. He tried to change imperial law so he could marry Asha when he was like 10 and asha was 4, thats weird, a ten yr old should NOT be crushing on a 4 year old. They are both kids but that doesn't change the fact that its weird. Its like a 17 year crushing on a 11 year old...that's weird no matter how u look at it.
The author did not need to make the age gap so wide between them. Then they went ahead and doubled down and made the uke as childlike and naive as possible which made it even more odd.
Its always the same cliche used to further the same cliche plot. The uke being a naive airhead to further the development plot of the possessive seme. Ur telling me that he only just now realized that the uke might have feelings for him..after he raided bros ass all night?!?! This manhwa was cliche in the beginning with the poor uke ridden with debt left behind by his parent, with rich seme who comes in and saves him from his unfortunate circumstances. But atleast it was funny and had no rape.
Now I can basically predict the plot with cliche it is.
Lol I think you meant the seme, not the uke. MC's an airhead but at least he knows his boundaries and where he stands. Did you miss the part where at the beginning, ML basically shattered that idea and made MC feel bad about even thinking about it? It would've been more stupid if he entertains the idea of ML loving him when ML basically told him he doesn't. What's great about this MC is at least he's not a love struck fool.
So yes, I think we have different ideas of stupid MCs. This one, at least, is clear headed and doesn't pine for the ML. He knows their relationship could end anytime. ML is the one with power in their relationship and MC knows that. Possesiveness does not necesarily mean having feelings.
( ̄へ ̄)
Like no offense meant, but that is such a negative way of thinking lol and of all the cliche things on this manhwa, you're finding fault with MC?The one fault you think he has? Dude's doing the best he can with his circumstances. He looks and acts naive but he actually has a realistic view. So points for him on that.
Tbh, I think you should focus more on how an asshole ML is acting like now lol but to each their own, I guess
I don't think airhead ks the word youre looking for, cause what I'm getting at is you see ml optimism as being naive thus him being an air-head. The mc knows very well what type of situation he's in but the fact that doesn't get him down shows just how strong he is. Of course he isn't one to stand up for bullshit as seen in other chapters but still. If you want more depressed/hopeless mc in this type of situation then thats you but I dont think the mc fits perfectly or rathee not at all into your cliche naive in debt mc trope
Mc is hardly a cliche, there is no uke as self aware, self accountable, hard worker and independent as him, he has had a say on everything that has been going on in this manhwa and he knows whats up with his relationship with Taeseo but still chooses to have it. He is kind but that doesn't equal being weak or naive. And we know for a fact that he is smart, he has kept his scholarship going even though he had a million gigs and didn't have time to study. It is 100% sure that even if he hadn't become a sugar baby he will still have gotten far in life and gotten a good job on his own with his crazy stamina and brains. Boy is literally a genius.
What does that guy, police officer, the one who had the kid shoot out the cameras, have to do with je-oh?? bc they clearly have history but I forgot and I don't wanna re-read.
My theory is that he's one of the corrupt officers who turned a blind eye to the trafficking and worked with the guy from the red-light district.
He ignored the plea for help by je-oh. That time je-oh was still a child when his father tried to murder all of them by burning coal briquettes in house. Je-oh's mother died, je-oh and his father survived. The investigating officer was that police guy. Je-oh pleaded help from him to move from his father, but the police guy ignored him. A few years later, the police guy met je-oh in the red light district. Je-oh confronted him and the police guy had been feeling guilty ever since.

He met je-oh to confess and apologize about this. Je-oh got pissed and asked him to own his actions like an adult. Because if he had help je-oh at that time, je-oh would not be a male prostitute at the red light district. That's why he helped je-oh. To reduce the weight of his guilt.
I keep forgetting how angry this manhwa makes me. The way how the author plays off rape actually pisses me off. Because not only was there multiple chances for the cousin to pay for what he did, EVERY SINGLE CHANCE was stopped by Yoon. For what reason?? I dont fucking know, the author couldn't even find a valid reason for why Yoon wanted him alive. And why tf did we keep seeing him?!?! These authors just some rape apologists fr
Honestly the ppl in the comments who are blaming this all on jaehyuk and excusing garam bc of his trauma are actually infuriating. His trauma explains his fears but still doesn't excuse the fact that he refuses to communicate with jaehyuk and gets mad at him when he doesn't understand. Ppl always wanna bring up how jaehyuk was in the past as a way to excuse how garam acts towards him saying jaehyuk used to be worse. However the difference is that jaehyuk has grown sm as a character while garam is still the same guy he was from chap 1. He refuses to communicate leaving jaehyuk to make amends and apologize. The relationship feels more one sided as jaehyuk puts sm much effort while garam hasn't changed much.
Even in this situation where all jaehyuk knows is that the love of his life slapped the rings out of his hands after he confessed love to him, completely refused to tell their close friends about their relationship and won't tell him why, and iced him out before leaving him. Bro has no knowledge as to why garams doing this and yet ppl are being mad at him for not understanding. And he STILL WENT TO APOLOGIZE. He's treating jaehyuk slightly similar to how that guy treated him. He clearly not ready for a relationship since his trauma still affects him sm. Honestly I see why he's leaving but he shoulda just done it officially and told jaehyuk first.
All jaehyuk knows is that garam hates the idea of them coming he doesnt know why or what the reason is. All garam does is shut him down whenever he brings it up though so jaehyuk doesn't understand what the consequences might be if he did something like that. Garam is making it worse by not explaining or telling him why he feels so strongly about coming out. Hes just getting angry at him for not understanding then he ultimately chose to leave. I understand that jaehyuk trying to out them in public was a big deal, but u can clearly tell jaehyuk doesn't understand why...
"All garam does is shut him down whenever he brings it up" it got brought up one time. "jaehyuk doesn't understand what the consequences might be if he did something like that." let's not baby him like that. ofc he knows about the consequences, he just doesn't bother enough to care. when garam brought up how jh himself was a homophobe a few months prior so his friends and other people can be homophobe too and jh blew up at garam saying should I keep hiding then. He knows the consequences. He has grown up not caring about public image polar opposite to Garam whose teenage years were majorly impacted by consequences of a bad public image. Jh is completely of "I don't care so you don't need to care too" mentality but sadly not everyone is the same.
"It got brought up one time" and he shut him down... "Ofc he knows the consequences, he just doesn't bother enough to care" he doesn't care bc he doesn't know, jaehyuk has a don't care mentality about this situation bc he's never been in this situation b4 and never had to face the consequences of being outed or coming out as a gay man. Which explains why he has a dont care mentality about the dangers of coming out as gay. Garam has experienced the consequences and still has trauma from it, we know this as readers but jaehyuk does not. He's never had to hide his love from anyone b4, hes always been the type of person to love someone openly. So imagine his frustration when the person he loves more than anyone, refuses and is outright horrified at the possibility of anyone knowing about their relationship. If garam would just communicate and tell jaehyuk why he feels the way he feels, im 100% sure jaehyuk would understand and end up apologizing again. On the far off chance jaehyuk doesn't understand even after garam communicates, then it would be justified of garam to leave.
He knows. Even homophobes know the consequences. But they would justify it by saying "they deserved it" so the consequences that followed to being outed is common. Even Jh's example of celebrities and how he got angry when Garam implied that Jh's friends were going to be homophobic also tells he knows the consequences. Jh's and ex's interaction also tells the same tale. So I think we need to stop babying him. Also you aren't gonna like the ultimatum in the newest chapter.
Jaehyuk clearly doesn't know tho, a better word for it is that he simply doesn't understand. To him its just a matter of a few ppl being bigots towards them and then a happily ever after. Han garam understands the consequences as he's lived through them, but he refuses to communicate at all. What im saying is that if he were just to explain why he feels so strongly about the situation to jeahyuk, he would understand.
"Even Jh's example of celebrities and how he got angry when Garam implied that Jh's friends were going to be homophobic also tells he knows the consequences." Actually that tells us the exact opposite, and that he thinks its all just sunshine and rainbows. He perceives the situation with naivete, thinking that they might get some backlash but ultimately him and garam will end up happy in the end. You see this with how he refuses to think his friends could ever be homophobic and how he uses celebs as an example of how happy they could be.
Its not babying, but simply just understanding his character. Garam isn't making it any better though with how he just shuts him down and doesn't communicate with him as to why that's a bad idea.
I understand garam's point and I get his perspective on things as its not jaehyuks place to out him like that knowing his fears and his past. But on the other hand its so much more than that when it comes to garam faults, to me he's in the wrong bc whenever there's an issue or an argument garam always blows up and resorts to either leaving or just completely icing jaehyuk out until he apologizes. Jaehyuk has grown so much since the beginning but I cant rly say the same for garam, he's the same person he was in the start, jaehyuk seems to be the only one making adjustments to his personality to fit garams and that's not how a relationship works. He treats jaehyuk like a short term partner, ready to leave at any inconvenience. Jaehyuk already had his development arc, garam is the same dude who refuses to communicate.
Well there are different types of "blow up". Jaehyuk blows up fast and more but garam stores his emotions so when his anger blows up rarely it BLOWS.UP. Garam is insecure and his way to deal with emotions is by running away (more at once) when Jk deals with them regularily (little but frequently) so he has more opportunities to grow. It's a matter of personality and how they deal with stored bad emotions. Garam will definitly grow after, but he needs more time to resolve so much of stored emotions. Main opinion and yous are not wrong, but focusing too much on who is wrong. Answer is: no one, just different personalities. We just have to be patent and understanding. (English isn't my native language so sorry for many mystakes)
except your keyboard's autocorrect from patient to patent, your English is fine. for me, I do see both sides but I also think this is a forced argument from the author. but the problem here is, people are just criticizing Garam too much. traumatic history from being outed + his bf trying to out him. ofc it will hurt. he has not completely opened up about his past during their entire relationship because he had a hard time opening about it so how does it make sense for him to open up about it all of a sudden. for someone who has gone through experience of being unconsent outing and have seen a friend go through w it too, I understand it very much. the ring issue was Garam's fault but the issue at the morning was Jh fault and a massive one at that. one was a relationship issue and another one was a life issue. I am not saying Jh hasn't grown, he has and has poured so much into the relationship and is valid to be not fine with hiding their relationship forever however the actions he took after being hurt is not fine. At the end of the day, both of them have some maturity to do, not just one.
The rape was not necessary like at all, not only that, it didn't even make sense. Ur telling me a slave who is desperate to get his masters help in finding his family decides that the best way to do that is to rape him?!? I can see that they wanted to add a sex scene and they chose rape?! And in the most nonsensical scenario aswell bc hes a slave wdym hes going around raping the powerful Duke in his OWN HOME?!? The story could have actually been so much better if they'd built up their relationship and then have that lead to sex or literally anything else!!

I hope the uke finds a way to escape this supreme dumpster fire of hell scenario where he ends up with either of them
Literally
