Was going decent but then chapter 31 hit and now wtf is going on…. Am I missing something…?

    Woorak July 15, 2026 12:48 pm

My thoughts exactly. I still don't understand why Manny killed his friend, it was out of nowhere. And that priest scene in the warehouse..? Wtf was that, also out of nowhere...

Exactlyyy? And it’s chapter 37 now but there is no explanation? Not even an hint as to why did he kill his own friend and listened to that reverend.

Spoilers for people who aren't up to date:

Manny's the drug dealer serial killer, cause Manny's brother was killed by drug dealers Manny was in a vulnerable place after his brother's death and the reverend listened to Manny's confession and manipulated Manny into doing "God's work by "killing "sinners" (drug dealers). Manny works for the reverend and has kind of lost his mind as a result.

Okay but they haven’t explained it properly honestly. Like he is fucking Sean and then also fucking the reverend at the same time? Whats that about. Idk it is not convincing enough for me

Him fucking the reverend was supposed to be self harm. Something about, his body is the only thing he feels he can control and he wants to punish himself after killing a close friend.

Yeah it's explicitly stated in the text but I think some people just skim or read over it

Manny is self destructive and full of self-loathing cause he blames himself for his brother's death. He uses sexual intercourse with other people as a form of self harm, and engages with the reverend out of desperation and self hatred.

The reverend is using Manny for his own gain, and I'm guessing he likes the feeling of power he has over him.

Manny sleeps with a lot of people, and it isn't until his relationship with Sean becomes something more than sex that Manny starts to break out of his cycle.

It's all pretty straight forward when reading, and I like the scenes where Sean calls Manny a "good person" cause Sean has no idea what Manny is hiding.

The guilt and self-loathing is fun to read, and Manny is an interesting main character in a genre where MC personalities can be kind of stale.

    To add on:

Manny is sleeping with multiple people as self destructive behaviour. He probably knows it isn't healthy and "makes no sense", which is why it's a dangerous form of self harm.
It is chaotic, and likely hurtful, and this self-sabotaging behaviour is likely because Manny feels like he doesn't deserve anything secure or better.
Secondly, Manny was r*ped by the reverend in one of the chapters and was not lucid enough to have given consent anyway. It could be argued that other times Manny "engaged" with the reverend was also SA, because he was under duress and may not have been sound of mind enough to give consent.

His relationship with Sean is slowly changing, but it is new and raw (+Sean has a whole other set of issues)

Is there any yaoi or Yuri similar to “internet love!” And “a first of summers” specifically the part that there is a lot of lgbtq+ visibility within the story

Roars May 22, 2026 9:04 pm

Please please please I need recommendations that have the same fluffiness, cuteness, wholesomeness, awareness, acceptance, visibility WHATEVER AS “Internet Love!”, “Love Me For Who I Am”, “Blue Flag”, “Boys Run the Riot”, And “a first of summers” I don’t care if it’s yaoi yuri or no romance at all, I just want something that seems real and not romanticized fiction. I wanna see real LGBTQ awareness and not the romanticized version we see within a lot of manga and manwha, LEMME SEE THEM I NEED TGEM PLSSSS!!!
