dude, honestly, idk how I want this to end. Like rape is bad and is always lazy writing, so I'm just dumbfounded on why the author added it... next point is that it seems we have hit a plateau in the story... with everything that's happened, there is no going back to normalcy but I do secretly wish they would end up back together. if not, I hope they could be friends and have great lives but they are bonded, so they will most likely die or end up together sigh... its good but quite lazy imo. Why is rape always a scapegoat in writing?

Normally I would agree with you, as it seems so many authors have a rape fetish and throw it in with no intention of it having any actual impact on the plot.
However, in this story, it does have an impact and plays a big part in the plot. Sejin’s trauma is quite literally a huge plot point. Ido might not have been very loving or kind to Sejin, but that’s not what caused Sejin to become as miserable as he was. It was the abuse (physical and sexual) that he faced from both the brother and Ido, plus the neglect afterwards, that truly made things terrible for him. To top it off and to truly push him over the edge, those terrible events led to a pregnancy that he has no idea who the father is. I’d say this is one of the few stories where SA (as terrible as it is) is not just a lazy way of writing in some fetish.
i somewhat concur but I grew to fall in love with these characters and have no way of seeing how they could be together though i suppose that was the authors intention when making the story. letting them learn to grow apart and be separate people. I do hope they both get happy endings, whether together or not.
I get it. I mean, for someone who hasn’t read the novel, you had no idea he was one of the reasons for his trauma so it sucks knowing he isn’t this great guy you thought he was.(Personally I enjoyed that this wasn’t a story like every other typical green flag BL or red/black flag ML who does nothing to repent for what they did).
So many stories include rape to the point we think its a scapegoat hahaha
