Well, what else are they supposed to do create a whole different idea? It would only be rational and logical to expect something like this. Why would they feel they need or even have a need to create something totally different. If you want to story like that then this ain’t for you, none of the historical romance are for you then.

Who cares if the character actually came up with the idea? You’re just being unreasonable, those are literally unreasonable expectations for author, trying to write a book. If you don’t like the book, you don’t have to read it. And you can criticize it and still read it but don’t criticize it about something dumb like trying to create a whole new idea for a BOOK. The point is the book is not about her creating an idea. It’s not like the author is like oh my god yes I made this. Does it exist in this world duh. The writing is pressure. The book is fire.
