"just buy it yourself" is a hella privileged response like sorry not everyone has the money or capability to purchase japanese manga. and coming from someone involved in distributing translations on an illegal website, thats hypocritical asf to dismiss people for looking for access to the same content

i translate so that i get people to support the mangaka. and i did accomplish that goal, considering how one of the titles i translated did end up getting reprinted thanks to people buying the original. and distributing the raws is a lot different from distributing a translation. how would i say describe it... i would say it's "worse" but idfk. unlike other people, i don't ask for money, but rather to support the mangaka because this IS a job for them and people seem to miss that since all they want to do is consume, consume, and consume. and if you like a series enough, why not support them? buying the japanese raws is literally $5. come the fuck on

youre missing my point lil bro inever said people shouldnt support the artist/mangaka my issue is with the assumption that everyone can "just buy it" whether its $5 or $50 not everyone has disposable income to spend on manga and dismissing that reality is a privileged perspective. looking for raws doesnt automatically mean someone is entitled or only wants to "consume" and that assumption says more about you and your ego. and telling me come the fuck on like what i even do. uou can encourage people to support creators without assuming everyone who cant buy a volume is acting in bad faith

i simply want people to support the mangaka and i'm sick and tired of people asking "where can i read the raws (for free)" like why the fuck is this a common question i'm seeing on so many titles? tbh i don't read on this site much bc it actually sucks for reading. shit-ass ux with a shit-ass "community" as well. i'm just sharing my translation in hopes it reaches more people who in turn may want to support the mangaka

bro why are you acting surprised people ask that?? mind you we're literally on an illegal scanlation site where people read manga for free that includes the audience youre translating for. again there is nothing wrong with wanting people to support the mangaka, and its great that youre encouraging that. but not everyone is in the same financial position and asking where to read raws doesnt automatically mean they dont respect the creator. you can promote supporting artists without acting morally superior to the people reading your translations

actually i do think that asking for raws (for free) under every single thing not only means they don't respect the creator, but they don't respect the medium and genre. end of conversation
