i love this story, and the art style as well. it’s all so wholesome—but as an artist and a reptile lover i just can’t get over how wonky the artist draws the snakes they look like thick worms rather than snakes. just one solid color and super thick, and the head is the same size as the rest of the body instead of being a little bigger. i just feel that with this story being centered around snakes, the artist would do a bit more research onto what they look like when they curl up, when they move, all of that stuff. because all of the snakes drawn in this seem very lazily drawn. like how a child would draw a snake. the artists style is 100% more suited for humanoids. not saying they should’ve drawn a hyper realistic snake, as it wouldn’t really fit the art style, but putting more effort into the more serious scenes showing his snake form would’ve probably been better instead of geumryang looking like a yellow worm everytime. now the more comedy based scenes? or chibi scenes? yeah that’s understandable, for scenes like that you wouldn’t want to put a shit ton of effort into the snake form there as it would look out of place. but the one where he’s rescuing taesun from the shaman, or curling up around him and the hatchlings, scenes similar to that where the mood is more serious is when a bit more effort should’ve been applied. still fucking love this tho.
