I also think the "she was an adult and he was a child" argument needs nuance. Yes, Inés had adult memories, which creates a complicated power dynamic. But she was also someone who was psychologically stuck in a cycle of trauma and trying to escape a future she believed was unavoidable. So she's focused on survival. I sorta read this a while ago so I might be a bit rusty on the whole storyline (specifics/details), I'm not saying it justifies anything but I understand in a way, if I went through all that, I would also become more detached in a way. Also, I lowkey don't wanna re-read, I have a seen a bunch of criticism about Ines, mostly from novel readers, would you tell me some ?
