Based on her responses to her friends, she clearly likes Laura as a person, but she’s seen how people can be impacted by society’s views. The only difference is that she isn’t old enough to understand the nuances of romance. Give her time, she’s young and learning is a slow process, the fact that she immediately stood up for Laura and is seemingly still trying to do some measure of good means she’s doing what she thinks is right, she just hasn’t learnt what “right” really means yet

My only concern is that it’s absolutely no childs place to speak about an adults romance with the exception of a single parent. A child to a single parent should have a say in who becomes their step parent. That isn’t happening here. She clearly wasn’t taught that her limitations as a child extend to those around her and not just herself. I am blaming her parents for this since they have a hands off approach with all of their kids but she’s old enough to attend social gatherings so she’s old enough to understand she has no say in other adults affairs just like she has no say in her peers affairs or the affairs of her friends parents. She needs to learn quickly that the only people she can influence is herself, her younger siblings and her parents (slightly) and that’s it. It’s a very short list.

I agree that isn’t her place to judge or influence, but as you said, she wasn’t taught and doesn’t know. I’m sure her parents didn’t realise how relevant this topic would’ve been, and may have neglected to teach about it to her. Even her social gatherings are amongst fellow kids, it’s not unreasonable to assume that her parents hadn’t thought this topic would’ve come up so early

Yeah. I do think that she should listen to her mother more though. She’s definitely counting her eggs before they hatch. They aren’t even together yet and she’s already talking about kids. It’s kinda sad that a child is already thinking about child rearing but that’s just what was normal for those times. I hope she learns quickly though. Itll only harm her if she doesn’t.
