Both characters are complete opposite to each other. One has craves for having sex with the guy he's in love to and the other one has close his heart and is afraid of sex from being traumatized.

I'm not talking about this manga, I just want to discuss about motif, a personal opinion, hope you will not mind ^^
What you're saying has a lot in the manga: A crush B, but don't dare tell, thinking will be rejected, and date someone else (or worse, sleep around). And B find out A's unrequired love, B begging the A to love him back, sometimes will begged in a low way, maybe A will refused B many times.
B is the fault? Why does he have to implicitly beg A's love? A person from the beginning did not choose him? A afraid of being hurt, love himself more than love B, so he didn't confess.
I would not say this is cheat, it's more like a betrayal.
If A is brave, don't want to love B anymore, and he know will be rejected, he should still tell B, and then, B rejected, and then, A can love another person. Even though they broke up later, after that he meet B again, love each other, it not problem.
But A still love B, don't confesed, meaning he still holds on to hope that B loves him back, and then A date someone, it is betrayal. He betrayed himself, love someone but seeking sexual pleasure with someone else. He betrayed boyfriend, too. (if A had boyfriend).
Once again, what I'm saying is not relevant to this story, I'm annoyed because all the stories have similar motifs that I've seen.

From what I read in the comments, it looks like A LOT of people can't really understand Kensuke's way of thinking or how he feels about his relationship with Hasekura and I think it's not fair for the character.
The story of this couple is in a 1 volume manga called Hitorijime Boyfriend. In this manga you can also understand why Hasekura acts the way he does.
