Nah, i don't think he's into pain but if you've read on or off, you understand that he likes " non- con" plays/scenarios. It was literally his first fantasy after meeting daehyuk.

True to its style of storytelling, it stayed realistic from the beginning to the end, not that i liked it. the ending was ambiguous but had a positive undertone, as it would be irl imo cause let's be honest, it's impossible for someone to move on from a guy they liked THEIR WHOLE LIFE in a span of months. it wasn't pleasant, cause i love happy endings, but it's realistic.
hakdo lowkey used to piss me off cause it felt like he was leading sangho on, despite knowing he likes him and doesn't mean on reciprocating them but.... hakdo isn't good with feelings and expressing them, it was lowkey obvious, but i couldn't get it in the beginning. and towards the end, i realised he's actually the complete opposite of what I think of him. he's actually upfront and honest about his feelings, especially after sangho confesses to him.
he just doesn't love him the same way and with the same actions and probably effort sangho does. he likes him in his own way and expresses it similarly, it's just not as forward and expected as sangho does, holding hands, kissing and all...
would hakdo ever like sangho with the same intensity he does? you never know. they could grow and adapt to each other or they could part ways because of the different expectations they have in relationships.
so I'm satisfied that the ending was ambiguous instead of a happily ever after, because that would be so out of place and unrealistic.
