All of you people should read Between the Fate and Fortune. The main couple is genuinely a green flag. Yes, the ML is somewhat pushy, but the MC is literally consenting to it from the start, so there isn’t really that whole forced-misunderstanding bullshit.
And I think the funny part is that people find their relationship boring precisely because they actually communicate. They don’t drag some stupid misunderstanding for 20–30 chapters—they just fucking talk about it and resolve it. Meanwhile, people find the second couple more entertaining because they’re toxic as hell and constantly creating drama.
So I guess that’s the pattern: when characters actually communicate, people call the story boring or mid because “nothing happens,” but when they refuse to communicate for 50 chapters and create unnecessary drama, suddenly everyone finds it entertaining.
