The mom is mad bc she thinks they're there to harvest his soul (meaning hes gonna die) yes, it was in the past and taker has been an angel, a high performing one at that, for a while and the reason he was there was to talk to the other angel who was lurking around the mom and the son (because they both have strong souls and angels want them)

okay so I dropped this story at first because there was so much second-hand embarrassment at the beginning. But then I started it again and its sooooo much better now.
