Larissa's questions ( All 1 )

Larissa October 1, 2018 2:55 am

I've been asking some people this question because I am curious what people think. So the question is: If someone asks a person out and gets rejected, can they still be friends or will they distance?

And I think no because
1) if it goes back to normal then their feelings werent that big
2) the person crossed a line and now it's hard to be around the person

And I know that in some circumstances they can stay friends but 8/10 times I feel it doesnt. But I'm curious on what other people think and why so ya just wondering lol

I agree with you, but I won't say they cannot be friends at all. A lot of awkwardness creeps in usually, and you can't be as comfortable as you were before. But I feel if you keep talking you'll get to the kind of friendship you shared before..

I think it depends on the person. Personally I would put distance, even if I was the one asking or being asked.
If I were asking that means I really liked them to asked them (I'm super shy). So I couldn't even look at them after being rejected.
After rejecting a person I couldn't look at them and I would feel bad every time I saw them. I would keep thinking about who they feel and how cruel it is to continue to see them after knowing.
All though both could be the wrong answer but it's just what I would do.

in my case, it was both a yes and no -- we're still close friends, though there's definitely a subtle distance between us.

my feelings for him weren't insignificant at the slightest, and our relationship may not be the same as before, but actually he doesn't mind that much -- it's only in my part that i feel a bit awkward at times. ┑( ̄▽ ̄)┍

Well, you're gonna want to get distanced for a while, but once the awkwardness passes, you can become friends again. Might take a year to let it pass, though.

depends, i had experience in both situations, it depends on the person itself and the other one.
