tbh i wanted ian’s ending to be more about himself, for him to find the answers he was looking for on his own, without either tj or jo.
but now, seeing that ian and tj are endgame, i don’t mind it all that much. i get that some people might be frustrated or disappointed because tj is a MASSIVE red flag, who hurt ian and them both a lot, and no one can argue with that. however, no one can understand what ian is going through because no one has been through it. their connection, even if it’s toxic and all that, is very strong and apparently impossible to break despite everything. ian needs tj and tj needs ian. i don’t think anything or anyone can change that; they’re the only ones who know everything about each other.
as for jo, yeah he was perfect, i liked him too, but in the end it would never have really worked out with ian, that’s the truth. their worlds were too different, he would have ended up being dragged too far into ian’s world one way or another and would have changed for good (or perhaps he already has). in my opinion, ian did the right thing by letting him go.
i would have preferred ian to let tj go too, but i repeat, they can’t be without each other; we’ve seen it time and time again.
If ian thinks this is for the best, i’m just happy for him.
