I kinda wanna know what being is jio really is he and if he was just an ordinary human.

I'll try to provide answer the best as I can, hmm as far as I understood he was really an ordinary human before the great catastrophe came, just quite apathetic to most of things... But he became one with the origin when he awakened.... the novel had these statements in chapter 19

""Seo gio had very crazily, unexpectedly merged with the origin during the earth rebirth process, rasing the level of his soul

This was a mutation with miraculous probability that is difficult to observe in such a small dimension as earth"

And

"Meanwhile, in a truly unbelievable and mind-bogglingly miraculous miracle that should never have happened, on that day that was supposed to be the last day of the Earth but wasn't, Gio unknowingly merged with the Source and evolved into a possessed portrait..."


So yea I guess he's not human anymore I guess hahahaha

But regarding if Gio is a human or not, as far as I understood he's just a normal human pre catastrophe, he merged with the origin/source when he awakened, as per chap 19 of the novel

But yea tbh, if we gonna dig deeper into the spoilers.... gio doesn't remember it right now, but he didn't become a portrait immediately when disaster came, he lived with his students for some time, he awakened godly painting skills and his students created a cult and tried to set him up a god, then he got attacked by fanatics and was left half dead while his students were away.

gio's portrait was actually his attempt at creating a clone of himself lol

students ate a part of him and gained a part of gio's abilities and created system in attempt to keep gio with them and to support awakeners in exchange of their memories of gio, then that gio's portrait became the system afterwards

From what I roughly understood....I think half dead Gio then ended up in the portrait trying to recover, but a part of him split up and worked as a system, it took him 30yrs to recover and regain his identity as gio

So yeaaa, I'll leave it to you to digest what gio is hahahaha

what the helliii, still haven't gotten over that his students ate him ┗( T﹏T )┛

Tbh same hahahaha, but well they were barely an adult at that time 17-18yrs old I think, didn't have any reliable adults around them aside gio during that time, and they were highly dependent on gio and revered him some kind of a perfect being as well so they didn't wanna lose their teacher hence were crazy enough to do this crazy stunt

I want to know did they ever remember or find out what they did to him to gio

They did, actually only 3 out his 4 students did the deed, one of them didn't do it, and remembered everything

And the three of them are the current symbol of eternity and are s class hunters, namely :

-head of the association - inherited the Promise skill (the skill that was used to create system in exchange of memories)


-guild master of top one guild justitia- inherited the friend skill

-guild master of top 2 guild- also the very first gardener), inherited the punishment skill

one is just c rank who serves as the current president of the korea, the one who remembers the whole fiasco

Gio eventually ended up meeting them one by one, h originally he wasn't really interested in the forgotten memory, tho he did realize his current memory wasn't correct and that something happened to him that made his students do something extreme where they needed to use the promise.

Then the last "Gio" - George, wanted to cause a huge mess so he roped in the first gardener guy into helping him cause a mess in earth. first gardener guy was first person to start remembering and regretting the past so then now he wanted to destroy the symbol of eternity, because of that it caused the system to start having error. Since system was created with their memories of gio as promise payment. so yea getting back the memories will invalidate that promise.

The association president was the next one to remember, originally she the most level headed and indifferent about the memories, then she entered the dungeon of George she started remembering the memories eventually regretting it

GM of justitia remembered everything after the promise was broken

Also when the promise got broken, everyone from the early days of great catastrophe also remember about the cult established by his students etc as well

Omg, thank you! All my curiosity and theory was answered! My theory was that Jio was some kind of god but just forgot and thought that he was just human. I mean I was half right cause Jio was treated like a god. I did wonder about the students but kinda thought they all died or something cause they were never mentioned again(that’s why the god theory). Nice to know some survived! Though most became…well… yeah

I tried my best to explain it as clear as I can xD Nah Gio was just an introverted apathetic handsome human, he grew up from a normal loving family tho his parents were murdered by a burglar, hence he was taken in by his grandparents who initially thought Gio might be some psychopath cause he was smiling at this parent's funeral lol

The Gio didn't wanna be treated like a god tbh but his students kept insisting so Gio just let them do whatever they want and just stayed cooped up in his room and mainly just minded his own business, Gio is bad at multitasking so at some point he got worried about this cult thingy, hence he created the gio's portrait as kind of like a backup plan?

I know that it's it's annoying writing this long paragraph just this one
I want to more details about shit bag students pls what happens to them if they really didn't wanna lose their teacher why the hell did forget why did they sacrifice their memories of him (gio) all i got from this is that they don't care about him they want his power after stealing his (gio's) power they go live splendidly and have their own guild they're all in powerful positions doing well... that's what get me ..
I saw many people who read the novel kinda sa s sympathise with these killers...

Umm I'll try my best to explain, from what I understood:

The students well some one these kids have issues one way or another, one had problematic family and is a delinquent, one is a model student whose parents expects too much from him, one is a crybaby idol, one came from family political background ( I think ?), anywho Gio ended taking care of them, feeding them, looking out for their well-being etc one way or another. Hence these students had started to think him like a perfect being and revered him

When great catastrophe hit they were all together, and did also help some other survivor, but Gio's painting skills were too OP since he could paint stuff and make it reality etc, his students started wanting to turn him to God, hence the cult they called portrait, eventually this spread around, some started revering Gio as a god as starting asking for salvation, some blamed him that he caused the great catastrophe etc, MC originally thought it was just a phase his students were going thru at that time but eventually he became concerned as time passed thru hence he tried to clone himself and created gio's portrait. He was originally gonna pass them the skills anyway cause he didn't wanna be kept treated as a god, but he ended up almost dead before he could inform them about his plans

His students was too panicked and they didn't wanna lose Gio, and prolly half insane, so they consumed a part of Gio to obtain his abilities and along with that they became immortal, and association president used her Promise skill and turned Gio into a system, that way Gio would always stay with them. Promise skill is a skill that requires memories and emotions to be offered in exchange for anything.

For most of the time, one of the student, the current president the only person who remembers everything was constantly plagued with guilt, she really didn't wanna be the president, but the other insisted on her being the president. It's also why whenever she meets Gio she always looks like someone who's expecting to be scolded.

At the end only the president and the GM of justitia were left alive. Association president and first gardener tried to stone for their sins. The association president burdened with guilt, she willingly became a color in Gio's palette. It's a bit hard to explain these color on Gio's palette...err they are not exactly alive but has enough consciousness to move around? Like a moving blob of color paint I guess?

The first gardener guy willingly became a life long companion/sacrifice for George the last "Gio" persona in exchange for George to willingly come under Gio like the other " Gios"

The GM of justitia, became bedridden barely kept alive due to sever injuries from fighting monsters, eventually was healed with the help the korea president and Gio

The Korean president she remained as a president for now and is just waiting to pass her seat to someone decent

Gio learned to feel more emotions thanks to George, so he did feel some resentment against these students, but still he loves them, kinda a love hate type of feeling
