Hmm he affects it majorly. Both negatively and positively. And he's basically the one that pulls the last trigger in main story. He's one of the characters that I couldn't hate nor could love, I understood where he came from and I loved his interactions with Yaba and their bickering. He was saving Yaba while also dooming him so he kept rubbing me off the wrong way, but he's a pitiful kid. U just can't hate him cuz u can see where he came from.
Anyway, it's full of twists and shocking facts, I don't want to rob u of the enjoyment of getting surprised so idk how to give "little" spoiler without letting a major one slide lmao. I tried to be as vague as possible.
