He seems to have a sleep walking habit [when stressed?? That ends up always being violent] and I feel like he killed his dad and convinced himself that he was still alive to prevent himself from going crazy.
[Extension.. maybe his dad fought back and thats why he's so injured in chapter 0-1]

The same concept but Guwon met Teach at deaths door. Maybe he was trying to take his own life [via starvation/dehydration + serious head injuries] as punishment for killing his father. The reason he's remembering it wrong is because he starved his body of fuel to function and has some sort of amnesia due to the head injury + the lack of function from the missing fuel in his body.
