Some ppl says that sangwoo deserves this cz he's already a murder and killed ppl before, Some ppl says bum is also crazy cz he's in love with a murder.
But what koogi did is that she showed the result at the beginning of the story, and then began to explain the reason behind each result .

In the first chapters koogi didn't show to us anything about the characters life or past
We only saw sangwoo killing ppl
That's why readers really hated him , but as for me i knew very well that there is no any normal person in the whole world will have the courage to commit such a crime without a reason ,
And yes, after many chapters we started to know what happened to sangwo in the past
And i just want to ask those ppl who used to say that sangwoo deserved this pain
after knowing sangwo's past life and what his mother used to do to him and all,

They can't imagine their selves in sangwo's shoes
We as normal ppl when we were kids, if our parents were to yell or beat us, we would think it's the worst thing ever, and get into a real huge mess inside our head filled with sad thoughts
now how about if u got in sangwo's life ?.he had no sisters no brothers, no anyone to make it up to him ,
I thought that his mother was good but it turned out neither his mother or father were good

Bum suffered worse than Sangwoo he had no one for all his life and yet he didn't kill or hurt anyone until he met Sangwoo who basically forced him to murder. Victims are not all the same. It's ok to pity Sangwoo because obviously he didn't deserve that, but to be honest i don't feel sympathy for him now.
But I have a question for you, do you feel the same for Sangwoo's mother too? Because she was a victim and suffered a lot too, she had no one to help her from her abusive husband. She was severely mentally ill and nobody did anything but beat her in submission. Did she deserve the abuse? obviously no. Did she deserve to pay for her crimes? Of course and Sangwoo too. His past doesn't excuse the fact he kidnapped and tortured and killed innocents persons, and tortured and raped and abused and attempted to kill the only person who loves him. Who saved the CEO daughter from the hell she was living, tied naked and beaten in the basement, with the horrific thought she would have never seen her family again? or Jieun for that matter? Who saved Bum when he was raped by the person he genuinely trusted to the point he bleed? I don't mean Sangwoo deserves to die, I think jail and maybe therapy it's what he needs but he doesn't deserve to be saved, considering he thought that all the lives he ruined ( Bum's included) weren't worth to be saved.
I agree with you.. EVEN A SMALL NEGATIVE ACTION FROM OUR PARENTS MESSED UP OUR HEADS AS KIDS. So none of us can come even close to fathoming how Sangwoo felt during the abuse.

No Bum had anyone, his grandma never actually helped him, she also let the uncle rape Bum, i know she couldn't do that much, but i'm sure she knew but she didn't do anything.
Bum since a young age knew just loneliness and abuse at home just like at school, where he was bullied. Then the uncle, who is his only father figure, started to rape him. It's implied he has been used and abused like a sex doll by his uncle for years, like his life wasn't worth.
And why do you talk about Sangwoo as he was a little kid when his father died? He was at least 18/19, he is not a little child! He has always been manipulated by his mom and he witnessed her abuse so yes, he had a bad childhood too. But he had a relatively normal life compared to Bum! He had friends at school, people who cared about him, his father didn't starve him or beat him up since he was in elementary school like Bum's uncle did. Nobody told him it was all his fault! even though Sangwoo's rape was horrorific, it was a one-time assault. Bum has been raped and sexualised for half of his life, and not just by the uncle, but by the sergeant at the military and by Sangwoo himself. How can you say sangwoo had it worse?
And i am sorry but I don't understand those double standards with Sangwoo and his mom. I don't excuse her either, I hate her character just like hate her son, but i don't understand people who feel pity just for him and not for her. We don't know what it made her like this, maybe her life was even worse, and her husband just destroyed her completely. Who knows? Maybe she hadn't a chance too
Just one thing about sangwoo’s mom. She was abused when she was an adult so she is supposed to have the ability to defend herself. I think it is huge difference between someone who was abused when they were fully mentally developed and aware and someone who wasn’t
Are you sure about that? We don't know anything about her ( and that's ok because she is not a main character), maybe she has been abused as child, that's why she became like this.
