I'm still eating ts up but oh my goodness, Garam was never an equal in this dynamic- professionally AND romantically. He needs to leave and find his own identity ASAP and then reconcile with the professor when he's a little more independent and experienced.
I don't think they will feel like they are. Unless garam repaid exactly all the things heejae did for him, at this point of this story and garam's personality, i don't think he'll feel equal. And i mean.....it did start with a 100 mil KRW donation, and saving his life in the car accident, and then FULLY FUNDING HIS LIFE AND CAREER IN AMERICA. Like it's going to be so difficult for garam to find equal footing, eventhough what he does for heejae emotionally is equally as big.

It perfectly captured emotional horror omg. I wonder if the author uses that style on purpose to convey a sense of horror that is settling in Heejae. Also, its interesting because a lot of us are familiar with Ito, meaning that the style used to depict emotional turmoil of each character invokes some sense of fear already.
