i'm so glad aiden didn't just let jace walk all over him and push him to accept that he was "just joking" and get out of the lie. you have to set boundaries, even with people you care about! jealousy and a desire for attention don't excuse ignoring someone's boundaries to get their attention, even your best friend. they are still their own person and they don't ~have to~ set everything aside to make room for your ego. if you have to manipulate someone to get the attention you want, there's no way you're as close as you think.
