I can't even call it mediocre because it's worse than most of these types of stories I read, and I Read a lot...
The setting is messy and the heroine have easy mode ( looks, background, magical power). Basically she and her family don't need to get involved in the throne dispute and main plot is gone. While ML is interested in her because deux ex machine - he saw her ... there is just no plot to explore dropping it
I come after watching the show, I am sure I never read this manga(the art kind of put me off), but I remember the most plot points. I also have vivid memories of typical manga illustrations in black and white of leads watching movies together and going to see ML's mom.
Is this remake of some older manga? Can someone point me the title?
Do I support our MC getting support roles if they are more challenging and interesting than main? YES
But something in this arc, irk me. I don't get why, but after reading last two chapters I feel like I read something unpleasant. I don't even get why, because there is nothing I could point out and say - that it's....
Typical avenge ML find face altering app to become handsome, and by posting 2 dance covers to popular artists suddenly become popular. I know its 0 to hero, but ML is unlikable simp who bases people worth on their looks. He later stand up to bullies but there is something so ugly about this title messaging I decided to drop it.
Somehow I have a feeling i will not like it... Seth is supposed to be an evil God, but the way other gods act, they are not exactly good guys either. There is something very foul in their behavior, and with each chapter if find myself cheering for Seth more?
I just know this story will hurt me....
Ok, i stopped due to that on ch 30 smth.
He is not full God yet but he was able to overpower Seth? It don't make any sense so the author is probably using it as plot device and Seth being SA happened in the past and probably in future...
It give me feeling of torture p*rn plot where they torture protagonist to the point he snap and turn bad and everyone act surprised. I can already guess that his wife is not that good of person and even kid is probably not his since he don't look like Seth but that god Seth killed...
Anyway its just my guess but I dropped it for now because I am really not in the mood to read sad stuff, maybe I will come back to it when I will want to feel miserable
No. Not really. This story is actually pretty complex.
Yes, he does get SA'd a lot, especially in the earlier chapters each season..... but it isn't really *just* that. It isn't actually entirely there just for heck of it, esp if u dig a bit deeper into the story to understand why it is happening.
Just be aware that due to the nature of this story and of the ancient gods themselves, the relationships, environment, reactions etc. can and WILL be toxic, brutal, and amoral
So if you do go on reading this, please don't shit on it if it becomes too amoral for your taste. Because from the very beginning, it's been set as story involving a lot of amoral decisions and actions..... it's becoming a question of how they'll get out of it or if they will
After reading first 5 chapters you can skip without problem to chapters 45 or 50 because almost nothing happened and what happened will be repeated... so author is basically recycling information with a bit add on...
I also usually love the managing territory trope but in this one, it's just few ideas lose idea without deeper thought put in it.
this manga had potential but its plotholes destroyed it. We have villainess's engagement to second prince, typical confrontation scene where its broken because the prince love someone else. Then time lope that make out MC repeat this week several times.
but what we learn - our MC don't see anything wrong with heroine that is loved by prince, ok she love prince but she really don't see anything wrong with girl that flirted with her fiance?
We also have second prince, born to current queen while the first prince is born to former queen (she died so king remarried). But MC father decides to engage her to the second prince while is afraid of power struggles? Why? If first prince is a legitimate heir and is favored by king no noble who is not power-hungry would bet on the second prince, its like giving their daughter a death flag, I could continue but setting don't make much sense and the more you think about it the worse it gets
Harem aside but this manga make 0 sense.. we have an adventurer whose ideal occupation is kingdom making but what he do after getting his own territory and people to take care of? He creates his own guild and go to other territories for adventures leaving his territory without the warriors he created to protect it in the first place. Then we have pretty modern cities and MC territory that don't even water wheel... add to this whole stupid harem cliches and I am not sure if its is worth reading....
How I am supposed to cheer for MC when he beat and pretty much tortured the person he was supposed to interrogate? Everyone acting like there is nothing wrong is just making me sick..
Then he jump with "I wanted to protect you" and "I want to help you"... there is just no way in hell LL whose face is still swollen from beating would want to do anything with these trashes. Yup trash because after acting like this there is no way they are good guys in my book no matter how much author want to pretend otherwise
It seems like you forgot that the Fu also lost someone important to him, which was established before we were even introduced to Lu. Plus, that was his job. He literally did not know and was doing his job under the impression that Lu killed his brother, who was his best friend/love interest? It makes sense. And the author was not trying to portray anyone as a good guy, I think the author was trying to portray that anyone can be a bad guy.
No I am not buying that he was just doing his job, we had other scenes where he was doing interrogation and no one hit anyone... was it not done because they were rich or it was just not done, your guess is as good as mine.
Also I know MC lost someone but so Lu who MC knew since childhood and knew brothers had good relationship... so while our MC acting suspicious of Lu intentions make sense - him acting the way he did make no sense, the same with plot convenience of Lu agreeing to help him where he had no reason to trust him

Princess is clearly B... and insine, her own jealous streak makes her a great antagonist in a way. But the heroine is ... like how much evidence you need to know she doesn't wish you well?? She is supposed to be at least a smart person from genious family and is reincarnated.... she is basically bringing a butter knife to sword fight.
While Princess and Emperor don't hide their intentions.
We also have an aristocracy problem with the way the Emperor act there is no way they are not aware that he is offering everyone that have too much power... so they must have minus IQ or Emperor is mater manipulator and actor just didn't portrey him right.
