Bro, I am might just be a person who holds grudges. Cmon, does everyone expect Tei, a literal post-combat soldier to speak up about feelings, and a political bargain from his homeland-to be the one to communicate first?? Just like a random concubine, he was sent to be wed with A CHILD, who was smarter and more ruthless than he looked; then be sent away with a lie and no explanation for 12 YEARS! Tei hold prayers and expectations, only to meet a now ADULT who cannot give a straight answer or at most be with him for some time to at least regain some confidence and trust. Saying that Tei is his most beloved will not reach him if all Tei life was a fighting zone for a permanent stay in his homeland country and now in his husband’s kingdom.
First most, love the story. Both main characters were adorable during their moments of how they love one another. But let me say, I know the author tried to redeem the bear and tiger, but I cannot for the life of me forgive them. From choosing to use others (especially other hybrids) to rid of their boss that’ve given them dirty work for YEARS and still yet wasn’t even sentenced like our main character?? The eagle was an undercover officer, so I guess this would make sense to my confusion, but Idk, I struggle a lot to like evil-strategic (or anti-hero??) characters because of unconnected it feels to see them use anybody for their “greater good” but also not want to dip their toes in the plans. The bear might have chosen to repay back his guilt but can it undo all his attempts to actually harm our wolf, and it clearly look like he had a plan this whole time but chose to be quiet bc he wouldn’t be targeted at all since everything revolved around wolfy being the weakness.
Again, I do not believe my opinion is everything, but a genuine discussion that can you actually ever forgive/like someone like that???? Thankfully, Wolfe is a stronger person than I am, bc of his love, yet I would have snapped so long ago. That is it, thank you to anybody who read my unless rant.
