Im so freaking happy BWAT is continuing making masterpieces on the regular and is even planning future works to tie in to current works. its so genius and i genuinely dont know any other authors who have made such an amazing library of works that are not only well written and illustrated but also consistent like who is this god send. its so rare for artists to go this long and dedicate their time but god it makes my day every week, an absolute goat (even bringing back some other works holy shit is it christmas, my bday, wtfff?!)

Daddy zhongli June 28, 2026 10:49 pm

Daddy zhongli June 11, 2026 6:38 am

this was way worse than I thought it would be but it had potential..., does anyone have recs like this that has multiple short stories/is an anthology and/or couples where its not overly fluffy but its not straight from the depths of MRM and has actual plot focus? I've only seen cute fluffy historical ones which are awesome but I really liked this concept. I feel like some had potential but the ones like the bunny one at the start and the brotherly love icked me out I felt ew after. and there was one bad one every other story that I couldnt recover TT

Daddy zhongli June 11, 2026 2:58 am

helppp I come back after this finally finished, when I first found this at 10 chaps, and everybody hates the end now TT im so sad if the wait wasn't worth it

Daddy zhongli June 11, 2026 2:49 am

Hi so I read all three and think desire scans did the best. I honestly wanted to drop this series and let it marinate until a good team picks it up but desire scans was ok. Not to nitpick but the others had grammatical errors that made the dialougue feel choppy and realistic and its been consistently present through all the chapters and hate it.

    Daddy zhongli June 11, 2026 2:52 am

Definitely recc official above all though if you can wait!! its the best ヾ(☆▽☆) so goooooood

this hits too hard in relation to the real kpop industry. so many innocents are left impacted and end their lives over this stuff and the culprits always walk away guilt free... at least the netizens weren't crazy in this for now??? we won one battle with that lol

also can sm dumb down the drug explanation and explain any drastic differences from similar real life ones bcs i kinda glossed over it? i know similar drugs affect the synapse by continuously flooding it with the neurotransmitters which trigger that feel good high and that this eventually causes your body to have decreased sensitivity to those neurotransmitters even when naturally occuring which is kinda the basis for most drugs but is it worse than them?

basically or jaeyoung here got drugged by his own bandmate, now what this drug does is that it attacks your dopamine receptors, it's the neurotransmitter that controls our joy or happiness. when you experience yourself being overjoyed by something the highs of feelings happy in certain moments or life is induced by dopamine, this neurotransmitter also plays a role in addiction, for most addicts when they do drugs for the first time they feel such a rush of dopamine so euphoric so high in life that nothing can compare, and with some genetic susceptibility and bad crowd anyone can easily fall into addiction. the more you do drugs the more your brain and body gets used to it, the more your dopamine receptors full down, the person becomes unable to feel any sort of dopamine induced happiness unless it's stimulated by something super intense. so you need a higher and higher dose to feel and chase that euphoric feeling. and that's how addicts unfortunately die, they end up overdosing and overdoing to the point they die. this happy drug that jaeyoung unfortunately consumed is so strong it instantly dulls someone's dopamine receptor to such an extent they're unable to feel that happiness, here serotonin which is also a neurotransmitter comes into play, without going into too much details, it's linked to dopamine they work together as messengers, controlling your mood, sleep and motivation. so if your dopamine receptors are fucked and so is your serotonin receptors which is the case for jaeyoung you will feel demotivated, hard time feeling any sort of joy or happiness, things or hobbies or company of people who brought you this serene or happy feelings would not make you will stop experiencing that, which also makes you irritable in some cases. this happy drug is an instant immobilizer, where most drugs make you come back and back to ultimately become reliable on it, happy drug instantly makes you reliant on it which makes it harder for the person who has even consumed it once to go back to their usual life. it's downright evil and disgusting what that white haired guy did to jaeyoung. I would say jaeyoung is really resilient that he didn't go back to the drug or maybe because he's pretty unaware about it because it's such a new drug and doesn't hang around such circles where it would be easy for him to get it. either way he's in a static, usually depression of any kind is only diagnosed after persistant depressive episodes (which can be only diagnosed if they last for 6 months or over that) according to DSM5, I won't diagnose him or anything but symptoms are definately there for him. hope I made it easy enough to understand sorry if it's too lengthy also as a kpop music consumer of over a decade I agree sm with your earlier sentiment.

OMG TYYY this was so helpful, I kinda confused on how instant it was?? Like it didnt even seem to be recurring like other drug usage and the addiction happened overnight but this explains that so well. it also seems pretty amazing to see how its guess not entirely but somewhat unaffected Jae young seems, like hes obviously depressed but he never seems to desire the drug and is very self aware about his situation

about why he doens't seem to be reaching for the drug again, my theory is that he is so affected by his environmental stressors, the disbandment, his career, his bandmates etc. I think he's so preoccupied with those worries he hasn't really fully accepted the fact a big part in his condition was the drug's contribution. which is why I remember the doctor is also not fully telling him how bad tze drug was. perhaps it's also about the doc's own research, because if your subject is too aware that can alter the results. glad it helped you understand ^^

Novel readers I'm gonna read the novel before reading this but how long did it take you to finish? I know it's a long read but curious as to the estimate and how to spread it out?

    imhisui_ June 9, 2026 8:44 pm

Personally, it took me a year to finish it bc Im a really slow reader, and english isnt even my first language so I had to search the meaning of words I didn't know

    saaaikipp June 13, 2026 12:29 pm

Its 550 chapters. Theyre shorter than book chapters, but it depends on what kind of reader you are. It took me around a couple months to read it, and thats probably the pace you'll be at if youre a more casual with reading.

    rinern June 16, 2026 10:51 pm

An estimate? Probably about a week or two if youre a fast reader and have a lot of free time. If not a couple of months to a year.
