This was a really amazing manga! Apparently, the whole softening-the-evil-one-with-kindness-and-empathy trope is lost on most reviewers here.
People are trying to mistake kindness for weakness/idiocy...Kazuto knew exactly what he was doing; he’s a solid person who was able to rise above, while Kiyoto wallowed in it...Kazuto was the better, stronger person, and helped his brother because he knew Kiyoto couldn’t help himself.
I could go on, but what’s the point?

I watched the anime, then went to the part where they left off on the manga because I hate cliffhangers, and I’m stunned by all of the rape talk in the comments. The anime wasn’t at all rapey. Guess I need to go to the beginning, but I wonder if it’s just a cultural disconnect?? Even one of the most consensual shounen ai I’ve ever experienced (Awkward Silence) has the uke saying ‘No’ once in a while during sex he REALLY does want (they explain that he’s just embarrassed)
But I guess it could just be plain rape, too

I don't really like some parts in the manga, like the rapey parts and I remember when I read the part they broke up, it didn't feel like how I felt in the anime (sobbing over it)...it felt like Junta had really forced Takato to be in a relationship with him the way they were broke up, and Junta was straight up "you can't be with anyone but me" like w t f
I so far like how the anime's heading and how it turned out but I think they should fix a little of the animation (though no anime is perfect)

I do not believe that anybody in this thread is really complaining; we’re just discussing it. I’m used to the yaoi non-consensual stuff; they’re just stories. I started all of this because I came from the anime and didn’t know what everybody was freaking out about. And I stated that yes, it was rape (not ‘OMFG! IT’S RAPE: BOYCOTT!’) and different from the anime.
One of my favorite manga is ‘Koisuru Boukun,’ so I become tired of people bitching about rape, and I get where you’re coming from, but I do not believe that anybody is really doing that here.

I'm used to this author having forceful semes who either borderline or outright rape their ukes, so I'm not really shocked...and it IS her choice to write these scenes, as well as it's my choice to patron her work.
Now that that's out of the way, what IS shocking is this desperate attempt to elongate a story that should've been wrapped up or simply resolved long ago. I understand that people get hurt and it changes them...I understand that old habits are difficult to break...I understand that an unhealthy dynamic can make behaviors and reactions loop around and around, making progress into a healthy relationship nearly, if not completely, impossible...but, whether it is real life or a work of fiction, it gets tiring. And this IS a work of fiction, so the author and editors have control of it...so, why haven't they put an end to this sick cycle?

Onodera and Takano are officially in a more regressed state now than they were back on Takano's birthday, or when they had sex in the shower. And yes, we freaking understand: Nao has a crush on Onodera; Nao hates Takano. Well, Nao has overstayed his welcome at this point, and every time it seems as though we've FINALLY gotten rid of him...he comes back, and wants to stay at Onodera's apartment. It's beating a dead horse, at this point.
The artist just needs to pull the trigger and end this cycle; I love her work, but this is just bad choices.
Two to one? Nao tries to push himself on Onodera, then Takano kicks the door in and saves him.
For all of the comments about the artwork being identical to the original manga...the author of the manga does doujinshi of Black Butler, so it might be her who did this. I read that she'd intended to make Black Butler a hardcore yaoi at first, but the publishing company talked her out of it to make it more mainstream.

It felt pretty complete to me. Three and four were the most incomplete.
