While I understand where he's coming from, I don't think is ML's responsibility to deal with MC's issues. He's purposely not disclosing his insecurities, and that will be an impediment for them to talk freely about the misunderstanding. ML doesn't know MC's past relationships, he can not read MC's mind. This should be pretty easy to resolve if MC was able to be frank to ML and to himself
