I'm just curious. The amount of train molesters I've seen in bl manga is scary large. I was just wondering if it is really common in Japan, or in any place that has subways/trains. And if you are in that situation, are you really that helpless? I mean in these mangas I've seen the characters really do nothing about it and let the molesters do their thing, which is incredibly sad and hard to see in manga, honestly. And usually it's in a setting where there are many people surrounding them and not even one notices it?! That is extremely disturbing.

i dont know 100% for sure but apparently, japan has this thing/policy (im not sure) that people should and like to mind their own business. so announcing that you're molested would gain you stares and embarrassment. im sure people will do something to help, but ya know, that thing, people prefer to mind their own business so it's expected you, the victim, should also mind your own business with the molester. so yeah, i guess victims are just expected to know kung fu and fight the molester or remain silent like an idiot. and people who do see just prefer to not get involved. who knows. dont quote me on any of this, this is just a hearsay kind of thing. nothing i know is from experience.

Yes, since there is a lot of people, you can't even fight with the molester like someone said above and it's hard for even know who is the creep. Well, sometimes, the girl/woman start to screaming and when this happens, the men on the train start to beat the sh*t of the molester, but most of times, the girls keep quiet and prefer to get off the train and take another.

Train chikan and molestation is a porn kink in general. Its prevalence in Japanese porn probably has more to do with the fact that their metro system has been around for years, and in particular, the way people were packed into trains during rush hour simply because Tokyo is one of the most densely populated metropolis regions in the world. I don't know if this is the case anymore, but there used to be train-packers who would literally stuff people into cars just to make sure there wasn't an inch of space anywhere. That probably led to some uncomfortable closeness. Likely there aren't many train kink stories in countries where people had breathing room, or no metro transit systems at all.
