the plot and pacing was already good before, the readers didn't care if this was the trope that's usually used in bl's, this had a lot of positive comments and reviews so I don't understand why the author chose to do it this way (abruptly) when it was already, if not, almost perfect story
It's not abrupt though, there were crumbs already as early as chapter 30, or when the s2 started.
- Yeon makes it so Yeomin is financially dependent on him, giving him black card and stuffing his piggy bank with wad of bills.
- Yeon gets angry at the mention of Yeomin moving out. He also had blocked Yeomin's attempt of leaving several times.
- Yeon gets ticked at the thought of Yeomin having a social life, to the point he's controlling. Yeomin had to literally appease him with kisses and sex just so he could go out and do group projects. If it was up to him, uni and his penthouse would only be the two places Yeomin could go.
(Keep in mind, even yeomin is aware of this, but he's still compromising bc he really likes yeon)

Honestly, whats more surprising are people's reactions. But i get it, ppl were ignoring it that if they do it enough this wont happen.
