You have no idea how debilitating that level of trauma is. She has PTSD at this point and is trying her best to unlearn that expectation that these people will hurt her.
If this is how you view victims who try to heal in fiction, I can't imagine how you'd treat real life victims of this level of mistreatment and trauma.
