Man this hurts. Neither Alpheas nor Erina deserved this. For all the people hating on Alpheas, he didn't do the experiment because she was "stupid" but so that they could stay together and live comfortably. Their families weren't accepting them to be together and they couldn't have kids because Erina's mental capacity may not be able to handle the physical pain and labor that came with it. So Alpheas tried to help develop her mind so this wouldn't be an issue and they can finally start a family of their own without worrying about their families trying to stop or oppose them. Like it said in the chapter he did it out of Pure Love and he doesn't deserve some of the hate hes getting.
Ight I just wanted to say what I though about it but, the previous arc with the racism shouldn't have gotten as much backlash as it did. I know most people talk about the portrayal and everything od the black kid in the arc and how it was stereotypical and racist. But yall act like there aren't actual people like that in the world, and especially that kid who was a foreigner was trying to stand out and act different to the other people in the country. Now people want to get so upset when something even slightly racist is targeted toward black people, but when any other race is targeted by racism and stereotypes its not a problem
Another ignorant and uneducated person. It’s literally not that hard to listen to black people for once when we want to point out certain flaws and issues. Nobody is acting like their aren’t people like that in the world please everybody who’s educated enough is fully aware of the fact that their is however that’s not the problem and we have said this several times already. You somewhat acknowledge what the problems are to an extent then you turn around and choose to ignore them.
The chapter got the black lash it needed otherwise the author was going to end up doing stuff that was more than close minded and ignorant. “Now people are want to get upset when something is slightly targeted against black people” yall love to twist around the things we say and it’s generally concerning! When any other race is targeted by racism it’s a problem when black people are targeted by racism it’s a problem ANYBODY with common sense unlike you would understand that, if you were just going to sit here and spout racist nonsense you should’ve said it from the start.
...what?
Things like this do happen occasionally. And I'm speaking from experience. It's not just a stereotype because sometimes it's true. It's the same with the other asians in the story being abusive and hateful. Not all asians are abusers and bullies but some are, and that some is what they're trying to portray through their story.
Now I'm sorry you feel offended that the first black person in their story is a bully and racist but just saying, it's a manhwa about issues like that. You can clearly see both poc being racist to each other and not just a one way hate train by the black person as most of yall say.
If you wanted positive representation of a black person.. or anyone really.. then maybe a manwha about bullies and hate isn't the best option to go to..
I for one would have loved to see how they resolved that arc but now we will never know because the author probably scrapped that arc.
I somewhat agree with you in the sense that some people do like to stand out and bully others who do not look like them and stuff. But I feel like it mostly happens if it’s one (or small group) person surrounded by others. Like — a white person surrounded by black people, a black person surrounded by Asian people, and so on. Racism exists everywhere. There’s no exception to who doesn’t do it when it comes to race.
1: for starters kindly and I mean kindly educate yourself on stereotypes SOMETIMES their okay while other times they aren’t, I have said several times already HARMFUL and disrespectful stereotypes were used, do not sit here and say “sometimes it’s true” nothing about the stereotypes im talking about are anywhere close to true nothing in general about harmful and disrespectful stereotype are true OPEN a history book.
2: I’m not offended by the fact the first black person in the manwah is a bully I’ve made that clear several times already in my other comments, nothing in this comment even suggests that I’m upset about that, IM upset about disrespect racist and harmful stereotypes being used for the first BLACK character I’m offended by a harmful stereotypical appearance, im not offended because their a bully nor am I offended about the topic of the arc IM offended by the way it was portrayed I SAID this several TIMES.
3: yeah it’s a manhwa about issues like that, doesn’t give them a right to portray them in an incorrect manner, they have portrayed several arcs about certain topics in a wonderful manner WERE pointing out the first time they haven’t. I’m fully aware of the fact it isn’t a one way hate train stop being up stuff I never once stated or suggested.
4: yeah this part right here is completely closed minded!
5: oh no I would love to see how they resolved this arc if the creator is actually still planning on revamping it, I would also love to see it done in a correct manner!!
wait.. are you actually saying that what happened in the manhwa didn't ever happen anywhere in the history of mankind?? girl, get your head out of american history and learn to study about other countries as well..
this sort of stuff happens. and it has happened to me as well. which is why I hate it when people say that what happened in the manwha isn't true. It is. That's my point. Are you trying to invalidate what actually happened and what some people have go e through just because it doesn't fit your ideals?
1: NO that's NOT what I'm saying stop trying to twist my words to fit your closed minded ideals. On top of that mf I'm BPOC not every BPOC is American that whole entire statement was ignorant, Ive learned about history outside of American history MOST history I've learned is about other countries PLS
2: I never said this sort of stuff didn't happen, I never suggested this sort of stuff hasn't happened either, stop assuming things love its truthfully embarrassing. When people say what happened in the manwha isn't true they aren't saying black people cant be racist towards Asian or others race nor are they saying they haven't been, you keep proving more and more that you arent listening to us. m not trying to invalidate anything, peach made a lovely comment with a nice example you should try reading it then educating yourself!
3: love I can already tell you don't understand anything, m questioning what you think my "ideals" even are.
You misunderstood what They were saying. They said harmful and disrespectful stereotypes aren’t true not stereotypes in general. everybody can be a bully it dose not matter what their race or gender is that's not a stereotype that's nothing close to a stereotype. learn which ones are harmful and learn which ones arent. Most harmful stereotypes have racial history behind them none of them are true.
here an example of a stereotype saying all black people love Kool aid fried chicken and watermelon is a stereotypes, not a harmful one and one that can be true in some format, does every black person love anything that I stated? Of course not however it’s a harmless stereotype used as a joke.
now here an example of a harmful stereotype, saying all white people are racist is one, saying all Asian eat dogs is one. those are harmful and aren't true and generally aren’t true because they aren’t all any of this. not every white person is racist and not every Asian eats dog, take a moment to read this and compare them kindly. Ones people generally being silly in some format while others are people generally being disrespectful and saying things they shouldn’t.
Ight Nixon this is directed at you, before I start I understand you as well and what you're saying but I still se it my own way. I'm black too and one of the reasons I'm able to make light of this is because it's a work of fiction. More than that this Manhwa is centered around targeting problems wrong with education systems and youth behavior, parent behavior, teacher behavior, etc. I also can't be too upset at the portrayal because it's someone who's a different race trying to write about someone's experience as a different race. Just look at many other movies or comics that portray all Asians as the same or have weird stereotypes for them. I'm not saying this say "Let's stop being hypocritical" but rather just to learn to accept that it's still just a story that is meant to highlight real life issues
I somewhat wish you included this part in your statement because it gives me a bigger picture on your ideals/thoughts instead of somebody who's trying to push the issue to the side or water it down. with that being said I think I owe you an apology for being harsh right off the back instead of asking you to elaborate more.
I don't agree with everything your saying however it does make sense, I just think me and several others just wished for the author to do a little bit more research when it came to the arc. its a story that's meant to highlight irl issues which I enjoy a lot but I just wish for those said issues to at least be portrayed right!

I NEED NARI AND JUNHYUK TO GET TOGETHER I BEG! ε=ε=(ノ≧∇≦)ノ
