I agree with a lot of the comments here. I just finished reading this and although I think the plot itself is pretty good and well rounded, the romance falls so short.
All of the previous 90 chapters were the ML being manipulative and detached, seemingly treating the MC as a pawn to his plan. In the last five episodes, he switched up with barely any build up because he felt like he was losing control of the MC. All of this is tied to a lack of control. Even his “I love you” at the end was probably more of a means to keep him rather than his true feelings, wasn’t it? And even when they finally “got together” in the end, it’s more so implied that the ML felt the same way. But did his feelings stem from genuine love or did it still remain in a need for control?
All in all, it just felt like their romance wasn’t really expanded on and ended right when it just started. Perhaps this is fitting of such a manhwa discussing themes of PTSD, depression, and suicide? I really liked how the author portrayed it tho, just not the romance.
I agree that it was really rushed in this manhwa. I think the novel gives a lot more context and inner dialogue, and reveals that ML is an unreliable narrator when it comes to his own feelings of affection-turned-love. It also has more side stories after the end of the manhwa that show ML deliberately giving up the idea of control and realizing he can’t control everything. Def read the novel!

idk abt yall but ts is peak to me. As a lover of angst this has made my ghost dick perk and shoot and shi like usually miscommunications are rlly stupid but this one is ok to me cause to them they’ve never considered the possibility of a beta being able to turn omega. I feel like some of yall are getting impatient cause you are a reader who alr knows everything that happens, give the MC some slack man ML is also not as bad as some of you say, idk but I fw this story
