I tried to give this a chance and could only get to chapter 26. Thought it’d be about how the FL is a super crazy bad ass and a psychopath after being alone for so long, instead she’s completely fucking helpless and it just makes you feel like shit witnessing it. Also how the plot is making it seem like she can only do anything/amount to anything with the help of the ‘ML’. Genuinely a waste of a cool idea. Also why did they make her so easily be chill with him??? Like out of no where she’s trusting him and friendly??? Makes no fucking sense why she isn’t absolutely hostile and hating his guts as he’s literally the younger sibling of the man who's ruined her whole life?? Like out of no where they’re close and friendly?????? Huh???
to be fair, i will come to her defense about being weak and not being able to do anything. she was imprisoned in her own home at the age of fourteen and has since been isolated from society for seven years. during those seven years, she was completely cut off from everyone else. no parents, no servants, no one to rely on. the minute she finishes her seven year sentence, she is accused of being a witch and blamed for the deaths of people lost to the fog. additionally, her finances are struggling and she does not have enough to survive so she has to resort to marriage. it’s obvious she would be weak. she’s only 21. HOWEVER i don’t understand why she is so lenient towards the police officer phelin or whatever his name is.
he’s literally the brother of the man who killed her parents, used her family’s resources and title to solidify his position as duke, and abandoned her after getting what he wanted. i do believe she should hate him more since she keeps blabbering on about how much she hates the dieus family. well for someone who hates them, you sure are friendly with one. you mentioned you only got up to ch 26. good for you cus you would’ve been enraged by the most recent chapters. the two basically confess they’re lusting after each other and ALMOST sleep with each other before they get interrupted. truthfully speaking, i was bamboozled. i don’t understand how she can just suddenly lust after him. i don’t mind her being weak because she is quite literally powerless but i find it ridiculous that she’s lusting after him knowing he’s family with the man who fucking ruined her life ? what is the author even thinking…
