So, I think he was sexually abused by the female lead's parents (I think this because of the craving on his chest). Was he abused by her mother or her father... this can go either way?.
I don’t think that was it. After skimming through the novel he was kidnapped by an enemy and her father never got anyone to save him. The father basically discarded everyone despite their loyalty. He was beaten nearly to death during his kidnapping, which is when I assume he got to scars on his chest.
Honestly his backstory is no excuse for what he did to her. Her only “sin” was not knowing anything that was going on. She had no control over what happened to her husband and yet was severely punished for it. It doesn’t make any sense to me, the author did an awful job at writing this
