I feel like mc was put into a similar position to the original story. He's so focused on his favorite character that there's now a side character who currently isn't getting anything, just like the original story- and like his favorite character (originally). Just a little different. If that makes sense. But maybe he'll get a happier ending at some point. Idk I'm not necessarily getting bad vibes so far. Unless it somehow turns to obsession. Which is kid a spooky. ( ´◡‿ゝ◡`)
The difference though is that this 2ML doesn't have everything about his life going wrong, just the love part. I think the reason the MC felt so much for the ML when he was a character in the story and so indignant at his ending is that he struggled through so much miserable crap without anyone by his side and didn't get any happiness after all that. It was like he only existed in the story to be unhappy.
This other 2ML may end up deserving of some sympathy, but so far we don't have reason to think everything else about life will be one of struggling to survive alone.

Well, in my understanding of 2ML personality, is that, maybe he is pretty lonely, and maybe it isn't that good his home environment. He is a neglected child, I mean, how can u think of giving your licensess son a racing motorcycle. What kind of parent does that! He might have money, but we don't know his backstory, why does he cling to much to MC,? why is he trying to have someone worring about him as much as MC cares for ML? Does he really have someone who cares for him? We know parent arent always worring and caring, we saw this from our own experiences and even inside this story, their parents dont love them. So why is he so obsessed with having what ML has with MC?

Just pointing out that in this particular story he still has some fundamental advantages that means his situation is different from the struggling-for-survival life the MC and ML lead/were going to lead. The MC was sympathetic to the ML not because he was a 2ML destined to have an unrequited love, but because his life and behaviour was so similar, and in the end his author friend still left him lonely.
It's definitely still ironic, yes, that he's not even noticing he's got his own 2ML in an unrequited love who he's not at all sympathetic and barely kind to.
