i cried a little reading chapters 66 and 67. i saw a few people saying subin fucked up and that he didn't even try to comfort her or understand her, and i disagree so much. This whole scene where subin is talking to the girl's parents is, to me, so beautifully done because if you actually look at it, you'll understand that he isn't really talking to them, he's talking to sei. this is in fact the first time subin is talking to his sister about his concerns and how he feels. for the first time, he tells her how guilty he feels for not being able to raise her the way she deserved to be raised. subin doesn't blame her for her actions, he literally says that she's too young and that he didn't raise her correctly. he also tells her for the first time about how terrible their mother was and what they did to both of them. and again, to me, sei isn't actually mad either. she thought her brother abandoned her, but now she's seeing him put on a show and talk about something he had never even addressed before just to help her ( i do think she was very shocked and upset at first that he is talking about a subject she probably think as embarrassing). she's realizing that she isn't alone. she has her brother, who is going to take care of her and take responsibility for her and her future. she's also realizing that her actions have consequences for other people and not just herself. she's seeing her brother begging for mercy for her case, and i see it that way because in the next chapter, we can see her not only owning up to her fault but also trying to fix things herself even tho in chapter 65 she didn’t even care about clearing her image. plus, this line " my dream is to be just as happy as the average person. And to make that happens i'm going to work myself to the bone" is soooo beautiful. she genuinely needed to hear those words from her brother and he need to say those for his sister. Not only did subin finally lean on his sister for the first time, but sei also grew from this whole situation. i deadass don't even care about the bromance anymore. i just want to see sei and subin happy and finally healed.

i normally don't like the rich x poor trope bcs it often has very classist writting but i really love how semin being poor isn't some secondary thing about him that isn't really important. it's centred point of his story and the author genuinely show the struggle of being poor and the long lasting impact it has on you.
also i know communication is key in a relationship but genuinely nobody get's how embarrassing it is to communicate your feeling with someone who would never relate to you or truly understand you. Yohan is deadass an angel and ik he would NEVER say anything negative about semin, but he grew up with a silver spoon in his mouth and never had to worry sick about how he is going to meet end so telling him all that must be such an humilation ritual for semin. I love semin so much omg nobody know how brave he is
