Honestly, this wasn't supposed take place into one of my classic favs but here we are. I admire a manhwa by 2 things; 1st is the art and the 2nd is the storyline. If I dislike a manhwa for any of these two reasons, another one definitely pushes me to finish it. By that I actually mean if the plot is better than the art, I don't mind reading it.
In the beginning, I was getting kinda icky because of the unproportionate art but the plot had me intrigued and icl this was actually unique to me for the fl being a crybaby but not useless. Instead, she actually stood her ground and did her best to keep the ml safe. I actually liked how it wasn't rushed but is a short read and yet the plot progressed by making sense. Again, it is also very refreshing to see none of the fl's family member being a villain to their lives. Otherwise, almost every other rofan/isekai/josei manhwa has the similar "villainous sister/dad/mother" in the fl's life.
Again, I was very intrigued by the ml character, too. Since, he was not the typical "love at first sight" kinda villain guy. But instead he's sharp, on-guard and cunning and as the author is true to their words indeed he embodied the villainous traits. Moreover, the character development was soooo good!! Definitely worth my time reading it.
(I have my finals incoming and I read this instead of my actual text-books, pls wish me luck, my loves (┬┬﹏┬┬) ❀)
OH MY GOSH! The angst in it is sooo dayummm good!! The portrayal of Daphne's emotions and the conveyance of each of her monologue are so striking that I lwk felt like it was as if happening before me as the first person. In the beginning, I'd been thinking of her to be a stupid nymph who was having futile admiration for a god who was toying with her. But the story progressed so well with her yearning and devotion turning to absolute hatred and loathing. Besides, her self-respect is so unwavering that I'm stealing her mindset.
However, I must say the snusnu parts are really well drawn, though I HEAVILY hate Apollo for taking her anywhere he wishes. God of reasoning and logic, my foot! Honestly, he proved the point why she hated men and trust me, my darling Daphne, I highly agree with your sentiment and me too!! Mother Daphne, setting my standards very high.
Moreover, from some spoilers what I've heard was that it's different than the actual mythological incidents, because Daphne in the actual mythology had gotten herself turned into a laurel tree but it's an alteration ig dats why it would have a happy ending instead. Whatever happens, I'm invested into this story but it would definitely be disappointing to see her ending up w da yellow haired manwhore. (╬ ̄皿 ̄)凸

"Unsightly thing"- Goodness Daphne's indeed the definition of "Man-hater" before dat term was even invented
