It's the fact that he's seen as timid and we should empathise with him, but if he were poor, suddenly everyone would be on his neck calling him lazy and bummy.
I genuinely felt bad for Wada-san. He's 10000× more competent than the random uni kid, but has to fight tooth and nail for this useless president to actually take his job seriously. Whilst the kid is mopping in his lovestory, Wada is fighting in a psychological horror game where his failure to handle the emotional load of his president directly results in his and other people's homelessness.
