To be honest, the story is quite refreshing. While angst-heavy stories typically rely on time travel and altering the future—a trope I am quite tired of—this one takes a different approach. Although it lacks the scientific elements I generally enjoy, I am deeply disappointed by the inclusion of the R-19 scene, which makes the narrative feel unsettling (though the story has been dark from the start). Regardless, I hope the characters eventually communicate and forgive one another, and that the grand duke stops blaming the empress, as none of this has ever been her fault
Is it worth reading? Yes. Not because Heiner's actions can be excused — they can't, and the author never pretends otherwise. No one in this story absolves him. But he deserves a chance, and so does she. They are both twisted and immature in different ways, both shaped by things they didn't choose, both forced to become better than the people who made them. The author doesn't hand you a hero. She hands you two humans, and asks you to understand them the way you'd understand a real person — not to forgive, but to see.
I read this manhwa a couple of times. Their story still hunt me. They are carved in my brain and heart that love is not full of butterflies. Love is not just about being happy but accepting, embracing, knowing each other deeply not just physically but emotionally, and mentally. Body and soul.
I'm glad they still found each other again, even after all the ways they hurt each other from the past. And I still hate what Heiner did to Anette. I can hold both of those truths at once — that's what this story taught me. Love doesn't erase the wound. It just teaches you to carry it together.
“ The author doesn't hand you a hero. She hands you two humans, and asks you to understand them the way you'd understand a real person — not to forgive, but to see.”
I agree so much with that line because it applies not only to Hein and Anne but even how the people of that world perceive Anne. You can’t view their reactions to her from one perspective, same with Hein.

just communicate and kiss to solve the problem
