In the manga was there ever a chapter where it showed the full past story on how they met. I remember it showed bits and pieces but i dont remember the full thing. Does anyone know?
Well I'm not sure they showed it yet but Kanou is injured basically from Konomi and Ayase saves his life and treats his wounds and stuff. So Kanou thought that Ayase was like an angel or a saviour of a sort. So Kanou decided to protect Ayase basically! I hope this helped, sorry my explanation might not be right! ><

I thought it was "Special Duty", but secret works too. Fujisaki Kou-sensei uses this terminology in her Happy Yarou Wedding series with Chiharu and Kazumi. A persomal favorite. So, this term seemed familiar to me.
